Jonathan Mears was found guilty of assault and harassment

Marvel Studios fired Jonathan Mears shortly after it was revealed that the actor had gone missing after being accused of assault and harassment by his ex-girlfriend.

UCM is without Jonathan Majors.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, following the lawsuit against Majors, Marvel Studios decided to distance itself from the actor. The star, who plays Kang in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, was found guilty of two counts of harassment and assault, and his sentencing hearing is set for February 6, 2024.

Kang’s future in the MCU

Now that Jonathan Majors is no longer involved in Marvel productions, many are wondering who will replace him as Kang. In fact, some people connected to the entertainment world have hinted that the studio isn’t even looking for a new actor, Kang, but instead is considering introducing Doctor Doom as the big bad guy. This will be the speculation (and even wishful thinking) of many, as the character is not even rumored to be in a Fantastic Four movie and is said to have little involvement if he does appear.

On the other hand, The Hollywood Reporter reports that Avengers: The Kang Dynasty has simply become Avengers 5. Some fans think this could be because Marvel wants to replace Kang for Doom as their new big villain, but it’s too soon. Make sure it is. Let’s remember that the studio is reconfiguring the entire universe in order not to make too many mistakes, and certainly to face such an important character as a big evil from anywhere and to deny years of development to this great villain. Think it’s the right idea.

Avengers 5 will hit theaters in May 2026.
