Marvel has made it clear how far Deadpool and Wolverine can go in their cinematic adventure
Sean Levy, the director behind the highly anticipated Deadpool and Wolverine, has confirmed that Marvel Studios has given complete creative freedom for this R-rated film, but there’s one key difference that can’t be overlooked.
The director himself will confirm
In this upcoming premiere, we will see Deadpool and Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) directed by Shawn Levy and with Ryan Reynolds not only acting but also producing. Fans have already seen action-packed previews, blood and tongue-in-cheek humor.
However, Levy revealed in an interview with Total Film that there was a line that Kevin Feige and his team asked not to cross. “I’m very careful about what I say, but there were definitely early discussions about drug use,” the director said. “We thought it was an interesting discussion. In fact, we have written a discussion forum about it.
No cocaine
Sure enough, in the second teaser, we see Wade Wilson talking to Blind Al about sneaking in to eat some “Bolivian Marching Powder.” “The only thing Kevin Feige says is off the table is cocaine,” Wade quoted.
Not surprisingly, drug use is a hot topic, even in films that already involve violence and overt sex. The MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) monitors these issues closely, ensuring that there are no scenes of drug use, such as the famous “cocaine angel” in Deadpool 2.

Despite this limitation, fans can expect a very powerful cinematic experience. The MPAA has officially given the film an R rating due to “intense gory violence and language, gore and sexual references in the film”.

A carefree Wade Wilson works on his civilian life, leaving behind his days as the amoral mercenary, Deadpool. Starring Deadpool and Wolverine
Not only will this film see Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in the lead roles, but Maureen Baccarin (Vanessa), Leslie Ugams (Blind Al), Rob Delaney (Peter), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead) and Shioli will return. Kutsuna (Yukio). Also joining the cast are Emma Corrine (The Crown) and Matthew Macfadyen (Success), who will play Cassandra Nova, a television agent and Charles Xavier’s villainous counterpart.
