How to Change Costumes in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Marvel’s Spider-Man immediately set the tone for a fantastic franchise with a range of familiar costumes. When the game launched, players were able to unlock these costumes throughout the game. While some looks were released as DLC, others were pre-order exclusives, and a few were only accessible by completing important missions, the range of costumes available was truly astonishing.

Fans have noticed that comic book appearances like Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Punk, and Spirit Spider have been recreated in the game with incredible attention to detail. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales continued this trend, with a few original looks added to the roster to balance out the fact that Miles’ comic book history is a bit shorter than Peter Parker’s. Regardless, comic book favorites still made an appearance, setting the stage for what was to come for Miles and Peter when they teamed up in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

It is relatively easy to make the change

Video game fans will see more costumes added in the future

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 to release 8 new costumes

Insomniac Games reveals eight new suits for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 as part of its upcoming June 18 update.

It’s actually a very simple process to change your costume. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. First of all, it should be noted that at certain points in the story, the player is not actually able to change their appearance. This could be because it would be too complicated to adapt to cut scenes, or because the developers want players to wear a specific costume. While most of the time, players have a choice in what they wear no matter where they are in the story, there are a few instances where a look is automatically changed to match what is happening in the story.

But when costume changes are available, players must first start by heading to the menu, as they normally would. Pressing down on the controller’s interactive pad brings up the range of options at the top of the screen, from the map to skill upgrades, gadgets, and, most importantly, costumes. Players should then click on the tab at the top of the screen that highlights the combinations..

Once in this section of the menu, players will see a list of Miles Morales and Peter Parker. They will be able to switch between them at will by using the bumpers. Visual cues are constantly displayed on the screen to remind players which buttons to press. They will then be faced with a variety of costumes, some unlocked and others blank.

If a costume has been purchased and is available to wear, it will be highlighted in bright colors. If a costume is available for purchase but has not been fully unlocked, its outline will be displayed, but its color will be duller. If a costume is completely hidden, it will appear empty and will sometimes contain a prompt indicating how to access it later. Clicking on a costume will give players the option to purchase the piece and instantly wear it.

Previews are available to show what the final appearance will actually look like once worn into battle. Players will find these menus to be very intuitive to use, easily accessible, and ultimately quick to navigate. The process of changing costumes can be almost instantaneous. Any DLC that adds costumes to the roster in the future will be featured in this menu, with the game being updated to include exciting iconic designs.

So, just like those previous entries. Miles Morales and Peter Parker have a range of costumes available to choose from throughout Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Each character gets their own dedicated page, filled with a wide range of options for players to sort through. As in the past, many of these inclusions are inspired by comics from the archives. Miles Morales’ comic-inspired look, for example, makes an appearance, as does his sleek costume inspired by Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Meanwhile, Peter Parker gets all the costumes from the movie that fans love, from Tobey Maguire’s original web design to Tom Holland’s Iron Spider uniform. There are a few costumes that appeared in the first games that aren’t returning here, like some of Peter’s armored iterations. However, there are also some great additions, including some original designs that strengthen this list.

New looks have been added to the game, such as the Hellfire Gala costumes for both characters, ensuring that the comic book narratives are always reflected on screen. This interplay between different mediums is welcome, and fans expect the game to continue to be supported in the years to come as new looks make their way to the page. Just like in Marvel’s Spider-Man, Some costumes are available to players very early on, while others must be earned.

As the player levels up, more costumes will be unlocked.Players must earn various components to spend on these costumes, meaning that all the side quests and other optional extras are absolutely essential for those who want access to the full wardrobe. Other costumes are unlocked based on the success of missions. For example, a Mysterio-inspired costume is added to the list once players have completed all the Masked Menace challenges and finally defeated the Mysterio imposters.

Some of these original designs are actually inspired by the stories, and indeed, players will only be able to access them once certain parts of the story have been completed. As is always the case, some costumes are available and only appear once the player has completed the campaign, with these final looks representing the journey that these valiant heroes have been on.

Costumes no longer provide any advantages

Every Villain in Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2 Explained

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 introduced Kraven and Venom as the main threats, but there are plenty of other villains appearing in Peter Parker and Miles Morales’ new journey.

The original Marvel’s Spider-Man The game also offered players perks for choosing specific costumes. There were character-focused additions for each uniform that were reflected in the gameplay. For example, Spider-Punk had a guitar-based power to use, lighting up the battlefield with a hard-hitting attack. However, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has completely removed these additions. Costumes are now entirely cosmetic and will have no impact on the game’s mechanics. There are a few exceptions to this rule, however.

Some of the black Symbiote suits have Venom-like attacks, but these are also influenced by the story. As such, players cannot customize their suits with unique abilities, but they are allowed to change their appearance based on a handful of options. In the costume menu, players will find that they have the option to change the colors of the suits, from a limited range. This is not a choice that is given to them on every suit, as some, like Andrew Garfield’s Amazing Spider-Man look, are too iconic in their original form.

But others, including the original additions, can be changed entirely, based on certain Spider-Man-centric color schemes that are unique to both Peter and Miles. For example, many of Miles’ looks can be restyled purple, in reference to the character’s ties to the villain Prowler. These changes are very easy to accomplish. When choosing a costume, players will have the option to purchase the color variety, spending points and components they’ve collected from side quests like crime-fighting and small-scale missions.

These tokens aren’t too hard to find and it’s relatively easy to keep purchasing the color changes, thus fully completing the wardrobe with all the available options. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a matter of choice, as the developers want fans to have a Spider-Man experience that fully represents what they love about the franchise. The suit is such an important part of that connection to the character, and fans will find it incredibly easy to access this feature, which has certainly been improved upon from previous titles. Audiences are now likely hoping that the next game in the series, The wolverine, will follow on from what has been established here.
