Giancarlo Esposito begins to remove doubts about the character he will play in the Marvel Universe

Giancarlo Esposito, best known for his role in Calling Saul, has fans even more excited about his mysterious role in the MCU. Although some may think he’s an animated version of Norman Osborn, there’s reason to believe his role is something more…fantastic!

Statements that will shake the Marvel Universe

Recently, the Breaking Bad and The Boys actor revealed that he has been signed on for a mystery role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Hours later, rumors surfaced that it would be coming to the Disney+ series, and Esposito himself confirmed it at a convention.

“The MCU has been knocking on my door and it’s a role you can’t predict,” Esposito told fans. “He suggested it and then it will be a series.”

This seems to debunk theories that Norman Osborn will be playing Spider-Man in Your Friendly Neighbor Spider-Man , as there’s no room for that villain to be hinted at before the series is slated to air on Disney+ this year or next.

However, a surprising detail emerged when a fan revealed to Esposito that he would be doing the “best” Doctor Doom in Fantastic Four. To which Esposito responded by saying, “Doing it and believing it.” What could this mean?

Doctor Doom on the horizon?

At this point, it’s important to remember previous reports about Doom’s introduction in the Fantastic Four post-credits scene, before he takes center stage in the Disney+ series. This latest series may set the scene for the ruler of Latveria to appear in the sequel.

More recently, more names have been added to the cast, including Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich and Natasha Lyonne in yet-to-be-revealed roles, along with Ralph Ineson as the villainous Galactus.

Director Matt Shakman worked on the Fantastic Four script with screenwriters Josh Friedman and Cam Squires, with Eric Pearson providing the final touches to the script. The film is slated to hit theaters on July 25, 2025.

Is Esposito our next Doctor Who?

With Esposito hinting at his role in the pre-series and considering the rumors and reactions to him playing Doom, the possibility of him being Marvel’s next big villain is very real.
