The following contains major spoilers of FBI Season 7, episode 14, “Hitched”, which made its debut on Tuesday March 11 on CBS. It also contains a discussion on suicide.

FBI Season 7, episode 14, “Hitched” is one of the most exciting episodes of the season. Which could have been a melodramatic premise – OA Zidan having to save his injured girlfriend during a bad holiday – turned out to be a mini -action film piled up in 42 minutes. It’s a bit like Air Force One On a traveler train, with a few television dealerships.

“Hitched” revolves around the OA and Gemma who take a train journey to the Niagara Falls, only to learn that there are hideouts on board. Who are the suspects and what they want enough to award the standard for CBS viewers to invest – in part because the guest roles are played by two very familiar faces. With Zeeko Zaki in Hero Action Full On mode, the story meets in an incredibly entertaining way.

FBI season 7, episode 14 has a lot of dramatic momentum

Any intrigue based on action like “Hitched” must move quickly enough so that the public feels as rushed as the characters. An example of this principle was illustrated in the FBI Season 7 Spring Premiere “Descent”, who wanted the fans to be on the verge of their seats to worry about diverted planes, but have never reached levels of tension high enough to create this fear. By moving to a story on a diverted train, FBI does much better. Much of this is due to the incredible talent of the actors involved, but the script of Mae Smith also unfolds fairly quickly and with enough changes to make viewers constantly uncomfortable.

Smith puts an additional character development in the air pirates, which does more than antagonists in stock, although he has a little so that this depth sorts. Their story is the backbone of the episode; It is revealed that they are in fact the victim of a different crime. All come from an Ohio community which was affected by the accident on another train carrying dangerous materials. After failing to obtain a collective appeal against CTX Logistics, they want to find a different way to obtain business money. It is a twist, then Smith adds another when there is a difference in opinion within the group. These changing reasons essentially divide the episode into three parts, each amount to the situation just enough.

There are weaknesses, mainly towards the start. The owner of the club who is the initial suspect of the murder is a stereotypical Russian character, although this may be FBI knows it is just a red herring. One of the other passengers on the train is also expected to be the fourth pirate pirate. And when a shot is triggered, everyone knows that Gemma will be the victim because the other people of the main characters are normally. But Smith compensates for these obvious choices by ensuring that the remaining passengers are active participants in history, especially when it comes to helping Gemma, instead of just killing the barrel fodder or complaining. Even the suspects are very friendly at the end.

The FBI benefits from the Pen15 & Once Upon A Time Stars casting

Episode 14 has another range of stacked guests

FBI Season 7 had excellent guest stars, such as Chicago MedGuy de Lockard and Cold case Star Jeremy Ratchford in episode 8, “Riptide”. Episode 14 is another example of how the program’s casting directors win their pay checks, with Clinton comfort returning as Gemma, and Melora Walters and Raphael Sbarge in the two key roles. Walters – Known for its stars in Pen15 And Great love – Play Evelyn Adams, the leader in the diversion effort. Evelyn scares her colleagues when she declares that she does not intend to release hostages; Instead, she takes the train on a suicide mission, planning to drive it to the CTX freight courtyard, full of dangerous chemicals. The best scene in the episode is when Oa tries to talk about school, but Evelyn ends up committing suicide. What could have been the most tropone-y argument becomes fans who look at Evelyn’s emotional collapse in real time.

Gordon Davis (from Evelyn): We can do nothing here. She takes us all with her.

Sbarge depicts Gordon Davis, the air pirate who initially leads the train. The actor was a basic food of Once upon a time For the entire race of the ABC program as an hopper archite, and everything has just become a defense lawyer in Law and order Season 24, episode 4, “The meaning of life”. It is not surprising that he migrated to another Dick Wolf show a few months later. Gordon’s face is obscured for the first part of the episode and he looks at the train commands, so Sbarge cannot establish this visual connection with the public. However, he always makes Gordon feels like a real person, and once Evelyn’s true nature comes out, he is wonderful to play the shock and fear of Gordon. All guest artists have something to add to “Hitched”, but these two television veterans do more than their share to make the episode memorable.

FBI season 7, episode 14 is another showcase of Zeeko Zaki

OA Zidan transforms the action hero in this episode

It is quite possible that Zeeko Zaki is the most underestimated actor on network television, and “Hitched” is another FBI episode that proves it. Zaki has a full range of things to play, from Oa desperately pleading for someone to help Gemma become an individual army when OA makes the very intelligent decision to destroy other train cars so that everyone can be saved. It is a twist of the plot that many viewers will not see coming, but it is exactly in accordance with the incredible altruism of OA, and this means that Zaki must transport the last part of the episode largely by himself.

The public knows that the OA will not be able to stop the train before the last second possible, because this is how television works, but Zaki’s performances always make these moments when OA tries to enter the driver’s cabin and try to fight with the brakes. It is as much the emotional pressure that the OA exerts on itself that it is if it is able to succeed or not. Even the crack in his voice when he expresses his guilt to his partner Maggie Bell resonates with the public.

OA Zidan (in Maggie): Was it my fault? Maggie, I had to protect her.

FBI Season 7, episode 14, “Hitched” shows how one FBI Agent and how good a person is OA Zidan, and like episode 11, “Shelter”, Zaki goes up to the brand. With two other wonderful actors giving life to the other half of the story, which could have been a very simple episode which simply supplied more anxiety to OA and Gemma becomes something fully developed and even surprisingly emotional. It is FBI To its best, and an interesting journey for the public from start to finish.

The FBI is broadcast on Tuesdays at 8:00 p.m. CBS.
