Deadpool and Wolverine Director Shawn Levy has revealed whether there will be an extended version of the Merc With a Mouth’s latest film outing. Ahead, Levy discussed how Hugh Jackman’s return changed Deadpool and WolverineThe story of.
Levy brought this up when speaking to Collider with lead actor Ryan Reynolds stating: “This is the cut of the film. There will be no long version because this is the cut we wanted.” Reynolds then noted that he had to ask Levy to “do a Snyder Cut,” and Levy didn’t seem to think it was appropriate or justified.

Levy also noted that there is a “small handful of deleted scenes that will be includedas well as a comment from Ryan and [himself] and a very good gag reel.” Reynolds added that the gag reel doesn’t really feel like blooper reels, but rather “like other takes and moments because everyone is very professional in this film.” Reynolds also said he thinks a lot of people think he’s just sort of [shows] up and you pull a string and [he kind of improvs] “all day long,” commenting that he doesn’t.

“We write everything“, he concluded. “We write about 10 alternate jokes to any given joke, not just for me, I write jokes for other characters, someone who may have never even had a line in the background or whatever. You know, you kind of plan it out in advance. So, seeing some of these alts I think will be really fun for the audience” . ”

Highlight Deadpool and Wolverine In fact, Levy explained why he wanted Jackman to wear a comic-accurate Wolverine costume in the 2023 project, saying at the time, “Like the rest of the world, I’ve waited two decades to see Wolverine in a full-length movie with Deadpool, and I don’t know if this is our last chance to see Wolverine on screen, so I was going to make sure we got the old yellow and blue one time, and we did it right.”
Only Deadpool can break the fourth wall
More recently, Reynolds has spoken about why no one else would break the fourth wall in the project, saying that it would lower the stakes of the film if everyone was “equally aware of the fourth wall or any kind of meta aspect,” going on to note, “Deadpool is the only character that has that ability to do that. If everyone did that, then you wouldn’t be as invested in that character.”
Reynolds concluded that he needed people to be “as invested as humanly possible in every other character” while knowing that only Deadpool is the unreliable narrator. Jackman joked that Reynolds “beautifully describes Deadpool’s brain as a half-baked omelet,” and so whatever he does is just “another layer of boring shit that [Jackman’s] “I have to bear it.”
Deadpool and Wolverine is currently showing in theaters.
