James Gunn confirms that projects like Merry Mini-Bat Christmas will continue to be made
According to James Gunn, animated projects featuring DC characters will continue to be made even if they are not part of their universe.
More animated series and movies are coming from the DC Universe.
Over at Threads, James Gunn responded to a user who was confused about how the various non-DCU animated projects that are currently being released on various platforms are handled.
“DC projects being distributed across platforms, so that more people can access the stories, is not the same as having no coherence in the DCU timeline, which is very common (starting with Creation Commando). Merry Mini-Bat Christmas on Amazon is a fun animated children’s movie that was being made while we were on board. It is, but animation projects like Elseworld continue to be made. “I’m not sure why that’s confusing.”
Merry Mini-Bat Christmas is an animated film that takes place in its own universe and premiered on Prime Video on December 8, 2023. The film is directed by Mike Roth and a spin-off show is currently in development.
