Yesterday, we finally got our first look at David Cornsweat donning the Man of Tomorrow suit on the set of Superman , and now the actor has been revealed as Clark Kent. However, it is not what we expected
At first we thought we’d see a picture of Cat Grant from the Superman set photos. But it looks like the photographers have saved the best for last, as we now have a picture of David Cornsweat as Clark Kent.
Creative images
Typically, the metal man disguises himself with a pair of glasses and a small hairstyle; As for Christopher Reeve, his perfectly tousled hair was replaced by the now-famous “Superman curl.”
Filmmaker James Gunn seems to be inspired by Superman: The Movie, albeit somewhat extreme. As you can see below, the DCU’s Clark Kent has a disheveled curve to better disguise himself. With most of his forehead covered, we can now believe that his colleagues at the Daily Bugle don’t recognize him as Superman.
A change that shocked fans
This isn’t necessarily what we expected, but it does suggest that Kornswet completely transforms his physicality as Clark Kent, a creative decision by Reeve that no actor has been able to successfully replicate since (though Brandon Routh tried in Superman Returns).
Also, Clark is wearing round glasses that look very similar to those worn by, you guessed it, the reporter version of Reeve.

Millie Alcock is expected to guest star as Supergirl before she takes on her own Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow movie.
Superman is scheduled to hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
A new approach to a famous hero
Clark Kent’s change in appearance may signal a more modern and realistic approach to the character, requiring the costume to be more believable for today’s audience. Instead of just relying on glasses and different hairstyles, Gunn and his team seem to want to put a new spin on the Clark and Superman duo.
With such a diverse and talented cast, expectations are high. The casting of Corenswet and Brosnahan has created a lot of discussion among fans, and the first look at Clark Kent will only increase the curiosity and excitement for this new version of the famous hero.
Will Superman be the one to redefine the genre for a new generation? Only time will tell, but for now these first images promise a new and exciting approach.
