The return of Reckless on the small screen, titled Daredevil: Born Againis causing great excitement among fans of the Man Without Fear. The series, starring Charlie Cox, will arrive on Disney+ soon March 4, 2025after overcoming numerous hiccups and delays in its production. However, Marvel seems to have a lot of faith in the project, since the filming of second season will begin before the premiere of the first one.

Charlie Cox’s confirmation

During his attendance at a recent Fan Expo, Charlie Cox, who reprises his role as Matt Murdock, confirmed the rumors: Cameras will begin rolling on season two at the end of February. This highlights Marvel Studios’ ambition to establish itself Born again as a central pillar in the future of the television MCU.

Additionally, Cox has hinted that he’s willing to play the Hell’s Kitchen vigilante for several more years. Alluding to an upcoming comic in which Matt Murdock appears in his sixties, the actor joked: “Ah, great, then we have some time.”

While there are already rumors of preliminary plans for a third season, Marvel is waiting to see how fans respond to this first batch of episodes before confirming more episodes.

The sequel everyone was waiting for

Cox also explained how Born again connects to all three seasons of the Netflix original series. As explained to Empire: “There were initial conversations about possibly reinventing the whole thing, but eventually it became more of a continuation. “Much of the story moves forward, the relationships and dynamics established in previous seasons still exist.”

The plot moves forward a few years from the end of the original series. In this time, Matt, Foggy and Karen have found some stability in their team relationshipbut, as expected, things get complicated: “Matt has made peace with his role as a lawyer and vigilante. And then, of course, everything collapses.”

An inevitable crash

In this new phase, Matt Murdock continues to fight for justice on the streets and in his law firm, while Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) has left his life as a gangster behind to enter the political arena. However, their past threatens to resurface, pushing them towards an inevitable confrontation.

The series promises to explore the character’s darker roots and the brutality of his fights, something that was already glimpsed in the Netflix version.

A luxury cast and promising direction

In addition to Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, the cast includes Margarita Levieva, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Jon Bernthal, Michael Gandolfini, Ayelet Zurer, among others. Showrunner Dario Scardapane leads the creative team, while directing duties are handled by directors including Justin Benson, Aaron Moorhead and Michael Cuesta.

The production also features an impressive group of executive producers, including Kevin Feige, who leaves nothing to chance to ensure the success of this revival of Reckless.

Marvel is betting big on Hell’s Kitchen

The enthusiasm for Daredevil: Born Again reflects Marvel’s continued interest in expanding its universe on Disney+. Focusing on Matt’s internal conflicts and his struggle to balance his two lives, the series promises to be one of Marvel Television’s most ambitious efforts.
