Daniel Bruhl has confirmed that Baron Zemo will return to the MCU soon

Captain America: Civil War and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier actor believes Baron Zemo will reprise his role in the Marvel Universe

The charismatic and cunning Baron Zemo, played by Daniel Bruhl, returned to our screens in the MCU’s first reimagining of the character in Captain America: Civil War and later in the Disney+ series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Although his fate seems sealed after the events of the series, Bruhl is confident that he will once again don the mantle of the famous villain.

Zemo’s return to the MCU

Brühl recently spoke with Screen Rant about his latest film, Karl Lagerfeld, and couldn’t avoid the inevitable question about his future in the MCU. Without divulging specifics, the actor was optimistic, saying, “I’m very confident that I’ll be back.”

After Zemo agrees to return to the Raft to serve his sentence in order to frame Bucky Barnes for killing King Tichaka, his character leaves an indelible mark, even though we don’t see it. In The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Zemo sets his own plan in motion and sets aside his differences with Barnes and Sam Wilson to stop the Flag, establishing himself as a complex and multi-faceted villain.

A possible appearance in Thunderbolts

When the Thunder movie was announced, many fans assumed that Zemo would be involved due to his close ties to the supervillain team in the comics. However, Marvel Studios seems to have taken a different course and has yet to reveal any plans for the character to return to MCU production in the future.

Brühl, with his usual humor, commented on his patience while waiting for a possible return: “I can wait. [Ríe] I am a very patient person. No, I’m not, but it’s funny, because in the meantime, I’ve finished a series called Franchise, which is a parody of the superhero universe, so it was fun to switch sides, so to speak. But knowing Marvel, they have a good sense of humor, so they’ll probably find it as funny as I do. And who knows, I’m not dead yet, I’m sure I’ll be back.”

Introduced as an antagonist with understandable motivations and focused execution of his plans, his evolution in Falcon and the Winter Soldier revealed a more complex side. The possibility of a return opens many doors for future plots and dynamic changes in the Marvel Universe.

As fans speculate about where Zemo will appear next, the anticipation is building. Will it be on Thunderbolts? Or does Marvel have other plans for him? Uncertainty adds excitement to what lies ahead.

Zemo’s influence in the MCU

Since his introduction, Zemo is a key character in Marvel, not only for his direct actions, but for the long-term consequences of his plans. His ability to control and divide the world’s mightiest heroes makes him a constant threat. His return could mean a new era of conflict and unexpected alliances.
