Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode 4 Introduces New Masked Majin Character

Dragon Ball Daima Episode 4 will explore more of the Demon Realm as Goku encounters new friends and enemies, including the mysterious Masked Majin.

During his introduction in Episode 2, Glorio reveals that he serves the Third King of the Demon Realm. It’s only in the next episode that it’s explained what that means. The Demon Realm is divided into three different worlds, the First, Second, and Third Demon Realm. These worlds operate according to a strict hierarchy, with the demons of the first demon realm enjoying more privileges than those of the second, and those of the second having more than those of the third. Only those from the First Demon Realm are allowed to travel between the three worlds. And, although each world has its own king, the supreme ruler rules over the entire demon realm.

Glorio could be demon royalty

Shin doesn’t believe Glorio is who he says he is

The Most Interesting Character Dynamic Dragon Ball DAIMA so far, it’s definitely Glorio and Shin’s. From the moment Glorio lands on Earth, the Supreme Kai is suspicious of him, unsure how he knows that Gomah used the Dragon Balls to age the Dragon Team. The tension between the two only escalates in episode 3, as they begin their adventure together.

Almost every time Glorio explains something about himself, Shin is quick to question it or give him an intense look. Glorio, meanwhile, is clearly not too happy about the Supreme Kai’s presence, having only wanted to bring Goku to Demon World and resent him for being a Glind. The class tension between the two cuts both ways because, while Glorio seems to resent Shin for his higher status and more comfortable lifestyle, Shin’s immediate distrust of Glorio may partly stem of his vision of the demons of the third demon realm.

Beyond what ALWAYS revealed to fans, there are plenty of clues to suggest that things might not be what they seem. Namely, Glorio may not be a lower-class citizen of the Third Demon Realm, but a royalty of the Demon Realm.. This possibility is suggested by his actions, his various reactions to him, and even his appearance.

Everything We Know About Warp-Sama in Dragon Ball DAIMA

The gigantic supernatural entity known as Warp-sama has already played a central role in DAIMA despite being a major enigma in the Dragon Ball mythos.

Glorio has repeatedly stated that he serves the third king of the Demon Realm, but he has not clarified what that means. He could potentially be the son of the Third King, making him a prince and not a soldier. From a narrative standpoint, Shin wouldn’t be suspicious of Glorio if he wasn’t actually hiding something, and a hidden royal status would explain several things about him. His possession of a particularly powerful weapon and his high power level could both be attributed to a royal past. Glorio’s lack of social skills and maturity would also make sense if he had the benefit of a sheltered, royal upbringing and, if he had ever met a royal from the Second Demon Realm, his poor view of the Glind could be personal . An even bigger twist would be if Glorio himself was a member of the royal family of the Second Demon Kingdom, as he mentions that the Glind “lived” there, implying that they are not currently in charge.

Glorio Might Have Ties to Infamous Dragon Ball Villains

Besides Gomah, Dragon Ball fans know of three other supreme rulers of the Demon Realm. Dabura held this position before being killed by Majin Buu, Dabura’s father Abura held this position before him, and fans of Dragon Ball non-canon materials know a lot about the Dark King, Mechikabura. If Glorio is royalty, he could hypothetically be related to one of them.

Dragon Ball DAIMA has already hinted at Dabura’s important role in the anime. His presence in the opening credits and the focus on his statue in Episode 3 would make him seem like he would continue to stay dead strange. As Dabura is a classic character from Dragon Ball ZGlorio being his son would make sense as a way to tie him more closely to the main cast. With Dabura having the same power level as Super Perfect Cell, his son would also be naturally powerful. If Glorio’s status as Dabura’s son was a secret to everyone, then he could be the rightful ruler of the Demon Realm, and his conflict with Gomah could be personal. All of this would also apply if his direct relationship was in any way with Abura.

Dragon Ball’s Demon Realm DAIMA is what Namek should have been in DBZ

The Demon Realm in Dragon BALL DAIMA is already a richer and more interesting setting than Namek from Dragon Ball Z.

Although it seems doubtful at this stage that ALWAYS will introduce Mechikabura soon, the character has a built-in fan base of Super Dragon Ball Heroes it would be nice to see him. Like Mechikabura, Glorio also has blue skin and white hair, making a plausible connection between the two. The non-canon characters Towa and Mira also share these characteristics, so it might mean nothing, or ALWAYS could play the long game.

Only time will tell who Glorio really is. It wouldn’t be too surprising if another royal anti-hero joined Goku’s entourage, but Glorio could very well simply be a subject of the Third King of the Demon Realm. Still, if he turns out to be the son of his supposed commander, or someone like Dabura or Mechikabura, he could turn out to be one of the most powerful Z-Warriors of all time.
