The minds behind John Wick initially thought that one of action cinema’s best actors would star in the franchise

One of the creators of John Wick, David Leitchrevealed that another big action movie star was being considered to play the popular assassin.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Leitch said he and Chad Stahelski considered Die Hard star Bruce Willis to be the protagonist of John Wick.

“We first learned about the script through our manager at the time, Kelly McCormick, who is now my wife and producer. He had introduced us to Basil Iwanyk and Peter Lawson in Basil’s company [Thunder Road] so maybe they would work on the second unit of that script. So that was the first time we read it, and I think Bruce Willis may have been involved at the time.”
