Black Panther: Wakanda Forever introduced us to T’Challa’s son, who has been named, and a new report suggests that he will take on the mantle of Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Actor Chadwick Boseman Early plans for a Black Panther sequel before its 2020 release put him as T’Challa at the center of the story. Although few details have been revealed, we do know that the idea was to confront Namor’s submarine when he finds the boy he found after disappearing during the bloop. Marvel Studios decided not to replace the actor and instead had T’Challa die off-screen, leaving a reluctant Shuri as the heir to the Black Panther mantle.

Although Letitia Wright is expected to reprise the role in future MCU projects, it looks like she’ll be warming up for the next Black Panther.

Shuri and her future in Wakanda

According to Alex Perez of Cosmic Circus, “Shuri has no interest in becoming queen of Wakanda, so she’s still taking time for herself. “She continues to hold the mantle of Black Panther, but I hear that she will eventually pass the mantle on to Prince T’Challa, the true heir to the throne of Wakanda, King T’Challa.”

As I understand it, she along with Okoye and Nakia are raising this boy who will eventually take on the mantle and become the next ruler of Wakanda and the Black Panther.

A new direction for Wakanda

This development was what we expected after “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, but now it will be interesting to see how Marvel Studios handles the transition. The rumored soft reboot of the MCU will allow the new T’Challa to age quickly. Otherwise, we’ll have to wait for real time and see a teenage Black Panther.

“The story they’re planning with their son is really interesting, and I’m really happy it’s unfolding the way they’ve planned it,” Perez added.

Marvel’s plans for young T’Challa

Leticia Wright was recently asked about her future in the MCU and she practically confirmed that she will be returning to her role soon, even though she may have escaped.

“So, uh, let’s say, let’s say…” Wright began, choosing his words carefully. “I want to continue with Shuri. He’s one of my favorite characters, a blessing, really, I’m not kidding. “I am very grateful to her.”

“There’s a lot more to come,” he hinted, possibly in reference to Avengers 5 (Marvel Studios won’t officially greenlight Black Panther 3, according to The Hollywood Reporter ).
