After Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega left Scream 7, Christopher Landon is also leaving the project.
Scream 7 continues to have problems in the production, now that the director of the film is gone.
Additional problems for noise 7
The next sequel of the popular franchise had to face many problems. First, Melissa Barrera, the lead actress of the latest films, was fired from the project after sharing posts showing her support for the citizens of Palestine, and soon after, news broke that Jenna Ortega would not be returning due to a salary dispute.
To make matters worse, the film’s director, Christopher Landon, turned to X to confirm his departure from Scream 7.
“I guess now is a good time to announce that I left Scream 7 weeks ago. This will sadden some and please others. It was a dream job turned into a nightmare. And my heart is broken for everyone involved. Everyone. But it’s time to move on. I have nothing.”
Although the seventh installment of Scream is not in danger of being canceled, the setbacks it is facing may cause the studio to delay the development of the film until the issues are resolved.
