We last saw Elizabeth Olsen playing Wanda Maximoff in her role as a villain in Doctor Strange’s Multiverse of Madness. Although Wanda does horrible things after being corrupted by the darkness and endangers diversity, she eventually realizes that what she’s doing is wrong, and therefore, sacrifices herself to destroy the darkness of the entire universe. Since then, we’ve never seen the original Scarlet Witch of the Marvel Cinematic Universe again.
Many wonder how this version of Wanda will return if she dies, but the truth is that it is unlikely that such a famous character would die in this way. Several rumors surfaced months ago that a film based on Wanda was being planned. However, after several months without news, and with the changes Marvel Studios is going through, some fans have doubts about whether the project will move forward. Now a new report has come out that says the plan is still in progress.
Insider MyTimeToShineHello revealed that the project is still in progress and will be released between Avengers: Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars, or if there are some adjustments to the calendar, it will be released after the end of the current saga.
It makes sense that Marvel would want to give Wanda more prominence, since the character gained quite a bit of popularity after Scarlet Witch and Vision’s debut. It remains to be seen how they will bring her back after she ends in Doctor Strange 2.
