When Kuma joined him and Ivankov, he formed the Dragon Revolutionary Army
Chapter One Chapter #1097 The revolutionary army formerly known as the Freedom Fighters was formed in its current form only when Kuma joined it twenty-two years ago. Kuma joins Dragon and the Freedom Fighters at the invitation of Ivankov, who rescues him and Ginny from prison and rescues the former exploitative ruler of the Sorbet kingdom. Kuma played a key role in the formation of the Revolutionary Army and it was after his joining that the freedom fighters reformed and rose to fame.
The vision reveals that Kuma may be a more important member of the revolutionaries than previously believed and paints a new picture of his relationship with them. Moreover, the long history with the army explains the strong reaction of the revolutionaries to the loss of self-confidence and re-establishes some relations with Kuma in the present. Ivankov’s reaction to Kuma at Marineford now that he can’t recognize him makes more sense after he learns that Kuma promised Ivan that he would never forgive him after they escaped from slavery. Kuma’s close relationship with Dragons may finally explain the Straw Hats’ inexplicable behavior on Thriller Bark and Sabaody.
However, Revolutionary Army has spent most of the series in the shadows and has yet to show its full strength and military prowess. Fortunately, seeing as One Piece finally reveals the origins of the Revolutionary Army, fans may soon see them take center stage as the series dives deeper into its final saga.
