Studio Ghibli’s Princess Mononoke Hoodies Get Stylish and Re-Released for Fall 2025

Marked as unisex clothing, Ghibli’s MononokeThemed sweatshirts are sized to fit both men and women. Additionally, they also feature a lightweight type of fabric, which makes them more “versatile” compared to other types of hoodies. The designs mentioned above also include subtle details and iconography that will definitely be appreciated by diehards. Princess Mononoke fans. The words “East and West” represent Ashitaka’s journey from the relative safety of his home village into the unknown – journeys that will ultimately lead him to the territory of the Great Forest Spirit. If one looks closely, two adorable Kodama spirits can also be spotted inside the “S” in the East and the “W” in the West. San’s design features large white letters that outline the pattern of his famous mask. Including tax, both sweatshirts cost 13,200 yen (~$85.97 USD) each.

Written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, co-founder of Studio Ghibli, Princess Mononoke uses a gripping, action-driven narrative to highlight themes of war, human greed, and conservationism. The film’s story begins when Prince Ashitaka’s tribe is attacked by an enraged boar god with a deadly curse. After Ashitaka kills the boar, the curse infects him, effectively condemning him to death. In search of a cure, Ashitaka leaves his home and meets Lady Eboshi, the ruler of a thriving industrial colony called Iron Town. While the town of Eboshi is a place of refuge for former brothel workers and lepers, the destruction of the surrounding forest by its people has made it a target of the forest gods and their champion, San. Sympathetic to both the people of Iron Town and the animals of San Forest, Ashitaka bravely attempts to resolve the conflict through diplomacy rather than violence.

Donguri Sora does not offer overseas shipping. However, its products are widely available online from international retailers such as Neokyo, Meccha Japan and Sugoi Mart, among others. In the United States, official Ghibli merchandise is sold at retailers such as Hot Topic, BoxLunch, and Barnes & Noble.
