Lin Lie returns with a new mission that redefines Iron Fist’s legacy
Just when you thought the Marvel Universe couldn’t get any more mystical, here it comes The deadly hands of K’un-Lunthe new series that will bring the flavor of martial arts back to modern comics. Written by Yifan Jiang (Eternals: 500 Year War) and designed by Paco Medina (Poison, Spider Boy), this five-issue miniseries will debut in February 2026 with a clear promise: wild action, fiery fists and legacy on the line.
After the events of The iron fist of the undeadthe new holder of the dragon’s power, Lin Liefaces his brother Lin Feng, an enemy as dangerous as he is personal. The story will take readers on a journey through Seven celestial citieswho are besieged by demonic forces. Can the new Iron Fist save what Danny Rand helped build or witness its ultimate destruction?
Iron Fist’s legacy in jeopardy
The first issue of The deadly hands of K’un-Lun promises an epic battle in which Lin Lie will not be alone. The young warrior will have the help of some of the most lethal martial artists in the Marvel universe: Elektra, White Tiger, White Fox, Pei, Karnak and Fooh. A team as unlikely as it is explosive which, according to the official synopsis, will come together to “stop the demonic wave before the Celestial Cities fall into oblivion”.

This story arc will not only expand the mystical Marvel universe, but explore it What it really means to be the Iron Fist in an era of conflict and succession. Lin Lie, Danny Rand’s spiritual and emotional heir, embodies a new vision of the hero: younger, more impulsive, but equally determined to keep the dragon’s flame alive.
A new view from inside K’un-Lun
Screenwriter Yifan Jiang assures that this project is a dream come true. “The K’un-Lun angle has always been my favorite within Marvel. I’ve been with Lin Lie almost since the beginning, so I feel the weight and responsibility to get him on the right path,” he says. Jiang promises a story full of emotions, respect for the original mythology and, of course, impossible choreographies combative. “You won’t see the shots coming,” he warns with a smile.
For his part, Paco Medina confesses that he is “happy and excited” to immerse himself in the Iron Fist universe. “I really enjoyed making the new designs, full of oriental details and referencesto make the world of K’un-Lun seem more real. Lin Lie’s costume, originally created by Jim Cheung, is a visual gem and I am honored to be able to reinterpret it.”

The return of Marvel’s mystical essence
This series not only marks the return of Iron Fist to the forefront, but also recaptures the essence of kung-fu comics which Marvel popularized in the 1970s with titles like The deadly hands of Kung Fu. The connection is not accidental: the title of this new saga is a direct homage to that golden period of oriental action comics.
With cover by the artist Leinil Francis Yu, The Deadly Hands of K’un-Lun #1 will be on sale on February 18, 2026ushering in a new phase that promises both spiritual introspection and pure adrenaline.

From accidental hero to guardian of the Celestial Cities
Since his first appearance in Sword masterLin Lie went from being an arrogant young man to a hero burdened with guilt and purpose. His connection to the dragon Shou-Lao not only grants him power, but also the weighty legacy of protecting a mystical balance in constant threat. His confrontation with Lin Feng, his brother, adds a tragic dimension reminiscent of the conflict between Thor and Loki: two opposite destinies united by blood and destiny.
Marvel, aware of the need to refresh its classic franchises, seems determined to transform the new Iron Fist into a symbol of cultural and narrative renewal. If the comic could combine the visual spectacle with the spiritual background that characterizes K’un-Lun, we could find ourselves faced with the rebirth of a legend.
