Star Trek: PicardTodd Staswhick was asked if he would reprise his role as Liam Shaw again. The actor has spoken about continuing the Picard story with a potential spinoff series, known as Star Trek: Legacy.

TrekFilm spoke with Staswhcik and he revealed how much he loved playing the character of Shaw. “If anyone chooses to give the green light to this project [Star Trek: Legacy]and fills it with all the people that the Legacy series would have: Jeri Ryan, Michelle Hurd, Ed Speleers, Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut, Mica Burton, I would love to work with those people,” he said, adding jokingly, “If that means appearing as a hologram and it helps my health and my retirement, I’m there.”

Stashwick’s character, Liam Shaw, was the commanding officer of the USS Titan-A on Picardand was killed by the Borg near the end of the series’ third season. Stashwick and one of Picard’s showrunners previously teased that the character might return as an emergency engineering hologram, lovingly dubbed a “shawlgram” by Stashwick.

Star Trek: Picard premiered on CBS All Access (now Paramount+) in 2020, and it is the eighth Star Trek series. It focuses on retired Starfleet Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) starting in the late 24th century, 20 years after his last appearance in 2002. Star Trek: Nemesis. The series has seen several New generation actors, including LeVar Burton and Michael Dorn, appearing as special guests.

Picardthe success of in the modern field of Star Trek raised hopes for a sequel to the series after its third season wrapped up the story. Several cast and crew have expressed interest in joining Stashwick in a spinoff, and even Stewart himself has spoken about reprising his lead role in a movie sequel, which is reportedly currently in development.

In a June update, Picard‘s Brent Spiner talked about his character Data and a potential return for Star Trek: Legacy – revealing a disruption in his plans. “[Showrunner Terry Matalas] I was trying to get a show off the ground that didn’t necessarily feature us [Next Generation cast]but I think they wanted to continue the show with Jeri Ryan and some of the younger actors who were in the third season of Picard, who could carry a series, and that would have been great,” he revealed. “And we would drop in every now and then, I think that was the idea.”

Stashwick’s recent comments make him one of many Picard the characters who would be ready to reprise their roles, should Star Trek: Legacy never take off from the ground. Besides Stashwick and Spiner, Ed Speelers (who plays Jack Crusher) has also expressed interest in the project. “Everyone seems to want it. We just have to keep making noise. I mean, I would love that. I would love to play more,” he told fans.

Following the conclusion of Picardtakes place in 2023, several new Star Trek television series have already materialized, including Lower decks, Prodigy And Strange new worlds. On January 15, 2026, the franchise will expand again with the arrival of Starfleet Academy.
