To a apparently different point from different points throughout the year, franchises in all corners of the game do their best to offer players unique fans experiences to launch new special events, often in the form of collaborations of fascinating celebrities. In a new collaboration safe to vibrate the community of games, the Legends of Rock’n’Roll de Kiss unite their strengths with World of Tanks Armor Modern from the Game Developers at Wargaming for the summer edition 2025 of a special annual event known as Metal Fest, from August 26 to September 15.
In an exclusive interview with CBR, Kiss Idols Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley speak of the ins and outs of collaboration with Wargaming on World of Tanks Armor Metal Fest 2025. From rock stars, everyone, everyone, is sure to entertain and delight modern tanks.
[CBR] What is in the world of the modern armor brand of tanks that corresponds to who Kiss is a brand? What made you want to get involved in this collaboration?
[Paul Stanley] The modern World of Tanks armor team came to see us and told us about the game, a world of power and battles of epic tanks. They shared how excited the players are to see a kiss in tanks, and we are always ready to give fans what they want. Our music and our shows are unforgettable moments, and now we bring the same energy to modern armor in the world of tanks. At the Metal Fest, the demon, the Starchild, the Spaceman and the Catman will take the tank center in hard rush.
Kiss has been involved in countless projects over the years in all kinds of media. What excites you in particular the video games that excite you in a creative way? How does it overlap the vision you all had for the brand?
[Gene Simmons] Video games give us another way to strengthen the volume. Working with the Metal Fest team has been a special and creative experience for us. We were very involved in the design of Kiss special tanks, ensuring that they captured the power and atmosphere of our group. One of the coolest things they added was the special powers of each reservoir. The demon has a flame thrower, the Starchild has an autoloder at fast fire, the Spaceman has rocket boosters to “fly” through the battlefield, and the catman pistols scratch and scratch enemies.
How was it to be back in the recording stand for video game dialogue rather than music this time? How is it different from your past work? How is it similar?
[Simmons] It was a pure rock ‘n’ roll fun. We spent our lives in studios, it’s always like getting home. The world of the modern armor team of tanks gave us the report of what the game needed and exactly what was going on in the fire of the battle. Once I knew the scene – victory, as an enemy, holding the line – I went full of full: sometimes rally the troops, sometimes cracking the whip and always bringing fire. But nothing was as satisfactory as registering the victory lines when the player wins. And kiss always wins, baby!
[Stanley] In World of Tanks Modern Armor, the four Kiss characters have their own voice. Gene and I recorded the Starchild and the demon ourselves in our studio in California. This session was an explosion, we had the world of the modern armor team online, the studio team in place, and a lot of laughter and jokes between the catches. And yes – When you pull your tank, you will hear “Rock and Roll All Nite” kicking. It’s a pure kiss.
How have changes in the entertainment industry inspired and affected your career over the years?
[Simmons] Each change in the entertainment industry has been an opportunity to reinvent kisses. We took merchandising to all the new levels for a group, kissing everything, from the lunch boxes to the freak. We have made comics, movies and television – and now we are in the digital age with Kiss as avatars. Our goal of our first days was to connect with our fans, so we will always examine new ways to do so.
After more than five decades in the entertainment industry, what is the biggest inheritance you hope to leave behind?
[Stanley] Kiss has always been greater than life, but at the base, it is this link between us and fans – shared energy, escape, celebration of being shameless yourself. If people remember Kiss as a group that made them feel empowered, excited and part of something bigger than them, then we did our job.
