The end of the screenwriter phase Al Ewing to the position of The most powerful heroes of the galaxy It comes to us in a volume of Panini Comics under the title of Marvel Deluxe. We are superheroes

When saving the universe it becomes a fixed job and nobody takes it too seriously. This could be the phrase that would define the ewing ewing at the head of this head. And it is that the author did it again. After a first volume in which he dared to take the classic concept of Galaxy Guardians And put a cosmic agitation, now this second volume gives us with a title that is a declaration of intentions: We are superheroes. Because, in fact, the Guardians decided to formalize their own. They are no longer simply a group of space misfits that save the galaxy almost by chance. Now they are true superheroes. With everything that implies. Or at least they try, because we do not deceive ourselves: these guys would not be the guardians if they did not put their leg yet and again while trying to do the right thing.

The story begins strongly. Him Marvel UniverseAs usually happens when the guardians are involved, it is again on the edge of the collapse. Due to, of course, what would be of this gang without threats for the size of planets, vindicative deities or intergalactic wars in which it is impossible to know who the good is and who is evil? This time our protagonist group has decided to be the hand of the cosmos. Have become some Avengers of space, to understand us, with its basis of operations, its heroic missions and his will to represent something bigger than themselves. The idea is pretty, even no Star-lord I have just returned from an interdimensional mystical journey.

Here everything explodes (literally and figurative). The seeds planted in the first volume thrive and explode. Drama, action and humor intertwine while the Guardians try to live up to a title that, we are sincere, have never been right: that of superheroes.

The dysfunctional family on the edge of collapse (once again)

The most juicy thing about this volume is to see how Ewing tests the group in his most ambitious time: it is not just about saving the planets or stopping a bad guy on duty, but of doing it as an official team, with purposes and responsibilities. And, of course, it’s like asking Cohete di Mapche Don’t shoot before and ask later. The internal dynamic of the group breaks while trying to manage a load perhaps too heavy for them too.

The return of Peter Quill After its strange journey through other realities (which arrives here with its consequences in tow) adds a layer of complexity. It is not the same type as always, he is a man who has seen too much and wants to contribute with something new to the group, although he does not always know how. His new spirituality (yes, that rare mixture of Guerrero, leader and man in peace with the cosmos) clashes with the old methods of the rest of the members of the group.

And let’s not forget Herculeswhich has already become an essential part of the team (and an occasional pilot). The former Olympic God brings a great contrast, since it remains a huge type of brute strength, but Ewing treats him with a special affection that shows us his most reflective and philosophical side. And even a Greek god comes unless he can try to find his place between speakers and aliens with strange powers.

The great theme of this volume is the attempt (failed, glorious and disastrous in equal parts) of the Guardians to become something bigger than themselves. Because if the first volume showed us how the group has tried to survive the nth degree star apocalypse, this second teaches us what happens when, moreover, they decide to do it with a plan and a discipline. The result is a festival of uncomfortable tensions, shocks and alliances. Him Nova body On the edge of the collapse, the stars entrust conspiratory and cosmic threats that do not give breath. Everything that can go wrong. And the Guardians, of course, have only two tools to manage the disaster: the sense of humor and the desire to never give up. Ewing squeeze that tension until the end successfully.

The perfect closure for a stage that gave everything

This volume is undoubtedly the golden pin of the Ewing phase. It is not necessary to have read a thousand galactic sagas to enjoy it, even if of course, if you come from the first volume you will taste it even more. Here everything reaches its peak: promises, conflicts, threats and, above all, the emotional journey of these characters to whom it is impossible not to want.

The crosses with Empire and with King of black They cause a problem of narrative uniformity, but at the same time they make this series perfectly with what was happening at the time of the publication of these numbers in the rest of the Marvel universe. And, moreover, to contrast the small minimum that these plots have in the general history of the series, we have some truly glorious moments here, such as those who have to do with the appearance of Marvel Boy or the plot of Doctor Doom y Dormammu. If you were looking for a comic that mixes action, humor, drama, Spatial work And characters who fall and get up again and again, this volume is your mandatory stop.

As for the graphics section, Juann Cabal y Marcio Takara They alternate with the front of the pages and give us a rich and explosive universe as the script requires. Spatial battles, alien scenarios, the intimate moments at the base of the guardians … everything seems as it should. Without either with the two cartoonists superiorFor his work here you cannot put many sticks. The expressiveness of the characters is a strong key for a volume in which it is the dialogues, the looks and the silences that tell more about what they seem. The graphic pace accompanies the tone: exciting when the action requires, detailed and stopped when it is time to taste a dramatic turning point or an emotional moment. Page compositions and dynamism in combat scenes make each number a show within the great show which is this volume.

Him Volume Posted by Panini Comics On the rigid cover it contains 304 color pages with a size of 17 x 26 cm. and includes the translation of the American edition from #6 to #18 of the sixth volume of the regular series Guardians of the galaxy In addition to all covers of the numbers included, an introduction written by David Aliaga And a small final section with extra material. The recommended sale price is € 36 and was offered for sale in May 2025.
