The following contains spoilers for Sakamoto Days Season 1, episode 9, “All Abard”, streaming now on Netflix.
Regarding anime and manga, it is difficult to ignore how prominent testosterone, assault and violence are important for the environment. Most anime are centered on men when they sum up. It is not more obvious than with popular deductibles like Dragon Ballon,, Naruto,, Boruto,, Chainsaw And Vinland saga. Even old -fashioned anime as Scroll ninja And Vampire Hunter D fall into similar waters.
As nuanced as the series may be, Sakamoto Days is not different. Of course, the anime presents strong women in its story, but most Sakamoto Days revolves around the eccentric Taro Sakamoto trying to escape Assassin, while Shin Asakura tries to leave life to killers to find love, happiness and peace of mind. In the process, the Netflix anime strives to reduce toxic masculinity present in so many anime.

Sakamoto Days uses the family as a means of healing assault
Shin lets go his fury thanks to the Taro tribe
It is important to recognize the impetus for Taro to leave the Japanese assassins association behind was his love for Aoi. She clearly indicated that if he did not leave her bloody career, he could not marry her. Naturally, Taro did exactly that, leaving her own toxicity in the process behind. It was not that he was strong or abrasive, but he knew he was carrying micro-aggressions inside. After all, how could someone agree with flexion ethics and morality in their field of work?
This is the lesson that Taro goes to Shin: true peace and comfort come when you are surrounded by family. They ensure you. They have their backs. They certainly do not consider you as consumable pawns or replaceable premium hunters who could die to continue contracts. Shin treats this after having come as a noisy wild assassin. Once he loses against Taro, he reconciles the lesson, registers to be the apprentice of Taro and evolves. Shin is a telepath who can read the spirits, but he has never had this vision of life – not after being abandoned and left in a laboratory. Shin has become a mature, patient and kind person. No one could have predicted that he was so altruistic.

The family is the catalyst for all of this; Something Tatsu sees when he observes Shin with the sakamotos in an amusement park.
Sakamoto Days describes forgiveness as a remedy
Taro knows that toxic males are vulnerable souls who want approval
Another component of healing toxic masculinity in Sakamoto Days is revealed in the Taro War with Boiled and Obiguro – Two other assassins in the park. They do not agree with Tatsu’s decision to listen to Shin and want to collect the premium, but it is not only professional; It’s personal. Boiled spent jealous years from Taro when they were younger killers at the agency. It was envious that the skills of Taro acquired a prestigious reputation, money and women. Boiled was obsessed with the accumulation of this same renown, pump and circumstance.
