The conclusion to the main story of Locke & Key, one of the best comics that can be found, arrives in a luxury volume published by Panini Comics
There are comics that must always be available, which are timeless and that are almost forced to read for anyone who loves these cartoons. Without a doubt, Locke & Key It is one of these. Even if until not too much we have been able to find an edition in two volumes with the entire main story of Joe Hill y Gabriel Rodríguez, Panini Comics He decided to reprint this luxury luxury. The second volume of this full edition ends with the end of the family plot Locke.

Everything happened in Lovecraft
In the first volume of this edition we find a story of mystery and terror in which we knew the members of the Locke family who suffered a brutal tragedy: Sam LesserA disturbed student, murders DRAPELL LOCKEThe Father. After this, Nina Locke And his children Tyler, Kinsey y Bode Move to Keyhouse Mansion In LovecraftMassachusetts. They soon discover that the house is full of magic keys with incredible powers. Bode, the smallest, finds the Ghost keywhich allows him to get out of his body as a ghost. But the worst part is that in the well of the house there is an evil spirit, Dodgewho deceives the Bode to give him the Key of the black doorthat unleashes the real terror.
Dodge, now with a physical body, infiltrates the institute, posing as a student called Zack Wells. In the meantime, Locke continues to find incredible keys, such as the Head key oa ShadowWhile trying to adapt to their new life in Lovecraft and stay alive despite being on the road between Dodge and its dark goals. With this second volume the final tract of this fantastic story begins …

The black door
Now the series becomes even more intense and dark, with increasingly brutal clashes. The lines between reality and magic begin to escape while the group of young protagonists begin to suspect that something does not adapt to Zack … but they are not yet able to see the complete truth.
One of the most interesting points of this volume is the one in which we discovered the past of Keyhouse and the origin of the keys. We are revealed how Rendell and his friends found the keys when they were young and the horror they unleashed without realizing it. We also understand why Dodge is obsessed with Black door And what he really hides behind her.
And all this will lead us to a final climax in which we will find truly tearful moments. Joe Hill’s usual readers can already know what to stick to this story, but others could drop unaware. In any case, it is a round end that closes a magnificent story, without ups and downs, crossing this comic as a true masterpiece of the ninth art.

A main closure to a masterpiece
If the first half of this comic has already been wonderful, the second is where Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodríguez show that they are not just telling a good story, but they are creating one of the best graphic novels in history. Everything that has been built explodes in an avalanche of emotions, terror and fantasy that leaves the reader without breath, with a difficult emotional overload to be transported.
Joe Hill, as a screenwriter, plays with the narration brutally. He managed to portray a story on friendship, the errors and consequences of the game with the strength you don’t understand to reach the final moments and take a step on the accelerator without mercy. The final confrontation with Dodge is not only epic, but it is devastating. Each turn of the plot is planned in a millimeter way, each character has its time and when the end comes exploded.
But all this would not be the same without Gabriel Rodríguez. What this man does with pencils is pure art. His designs of the keys, of the creatures of the shadows or of the same Keyhouse are simply perfect. His visual fiction is so good that sometimes the plot can be followed during entire pages without text. And when you have to show off with great illustrations, the boy recreates and enjoys. Eye of the extras at the end of the volume to appreciate in detail the work of this artist.
I hope this new edition serves to store this comic and that anyone has not yet brought to this story now and can enjoy one of the best stories in cartoons that can be found.
