10 clues that spoiled Big ben Linus Twist from Lost

One of the biggest twists and turns Lost it was when The mysterious Henry Gale turned out to be Ben Linus, chief of others on the island. However, perhaps only using the hindsight, the spectacle prefigured this great revelation from the moment the character appeared on the screen. What makes it even more impressive is the knowledge that Michael Emerson was not necessarily supposed to be such an important character at the beginning.

While a large part of Lost was planned since the pilot, the writers were not afraid to change course or to wait to define specific mysteries. The importance of “Henry Gale” was such a audible. The producers loved Emerson’s performance so much that they decided to keep it in the series. However, from the moment the character appeared on the screen, there were signs that he was much more important for the story he did not seem. Ben Linus was one of LostThe most incredible characters, and the seeds of his harmful journey, with Redemption, were planted from his first scenes of season 2.. It is an intelligent testimony of which the series was conceived that the real identity D’Henry Gale was tightened before the storytellers were entirely sure of that themselves.

The longest sinking on the island, Danielle Rousseau, posed traps on the island to capture wandering people in the jungle. When she finds Sayid towards the end of season 2, she tells him that she was able to capture “one of them”. Obviously, like one of the others, Ben was taken in the trap. However, he probably did not take into account Danielle by sending a crossbow bolt through his shoulder when he pretended to run away.

10 complaints that fans have on the lost final which makes no sense 15 years later

The lost final was certainly an episode of television division, but not all criticisms last 15 years later.

At this stage of the series, the public thought that Danielle was really mentally compromised by her 16 years of isolation on the island. Like Sayid, they took his word with a grain of salt. However, His calm certainty about the identity of Henry Gale as one of the others was a clue. In the past, she had been somewhat frantic in her statements and her questions. This was not the case here. In fact, season 6 also underlined his certainty because it was Ben who took Alex as a baby from Danielle.

The first appearance of others in Lost came in season 1, but it was really “the other”. Ethan Rom passed one of the shipwrecked until he captures Claire Littleton, disappearing with her for days. She finally returned (released by Danielle), and this episode revealed what happened during her time. While Claire tries to find medication for Aaron, who is sick, she, Rousseau and Kate Austen discover another “hatch”. They find a false beard and tattered costumes there, suggesting that the others are not as rustic as they have appeared so far.

It was the second Lost The episode that will take place entirely on the island after “the other 48 days”, also in season 2.

This revelation implies that others often play roles to achieve their goals, just like Ben does like Henry Gale. Still in this episode, Mr. Eko confronts Henry Gale to abuse two of the others after the accident. He cuts two components of his beard representing the people he killed. Given Mr. Eko’s conscience to the greatest powers and mysteries of the island, it seems that he knows that Henry Gale is more than another “other”. Even if unconsciously, Ben’s search for absolution is an indication of the more important role of the character in the group.

While the quarrel between Jack and Locke has become more heated over time, the seeds of it were planted in season 2 by Henry Gale. While the two shipwrecked worked together in the hatch, pushing the button, they argued on what to do with their prisoner. Jack wanted to keep the presence of Henry silent, while Locke was leaned over to let him go. In future episodes, this dynamic continues with Ben asking Locke why he “lets” Jack to direct him, which makes Locke throw him angry into this cell.

“”[The writers were open to evolution] As with the character of Michael Emerson, he was reserved for three episodes. And the moment he said, “Do you have milk?” Damon and Carlton called me and said to me, “We have to keep it!” It’s a genius! “- Jack Bender in the documentary Get lost.

It is also retroactively significant in the role of Ben on the island, constantly opposing Locke and Jack against each other. Another revealing scene comes at the end of the episode when he “imagines” what he would do if he was really another, setting up an ambush for Sayid, Ana Lucia and Charlie who went to The place where Henry Gale’s balloon crashed on the island. However, the end of the following episode revealed that Sayid (still certain Ben ment) unearthed the tomb of the real Henry Gale.

Before Sayid, Charlie and Ana Lucia returned from their trek, the swan station enters locking due to a food drop of the Dharma initiative flies over the island. While in the hatch, Locke ends up being pinned by the door, injuring his leg. Not only does it play on the theme of Locke’s ability to walk linked to her “faith” on the island, but she gives a subtle sign that Henry Gale is more than the other. Rather than escaping or trying to harm Locke, he actually helps him. This is because, as Jack later points out, Ben thought that his story would check.

The original end of Lost would have corrected 1 of the biggest mysteries in the series (but probably not the 1 you think)

The original idea hatched by Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse for the final of the Lost Climactic series would have justified the smoked monster look.

When Locke tells Henry how to press the button, the audience is allowed to wonder if it really does it or not. With hindsight, it is clear that not only know what to do, but he understands the importance of this station. He also knew that the timer showed hieroglyphs when it went beyond 108 seconds. The Dharma initiative treated the swan as privileged information, even by creating a false station to suggest to others that it was a psychological experience. Since Ben knows how to grasp the figures and the importance of doing so, it is a retroactive clue that he is more than who meets the eye.

While questioning him, Sayid kills almost ben anger. Before that, they talk about the man they think is the leader. Until this point, the shipwrecked only took care of Tom Friendly, wearing a false beard. When he mentions it in Ben as a leader, the false Henry Gale laughs, saying that Tom is “nothing”. After Lucia saved her in the last second, Ben had a curious reaction when she was alone. It is relieved to be alive, but it also seems a little satisfied. His continuous revelations on the leader are additional clues to the torsion that Ben is in fact the man in charge.

“The man in charge is a tall man, a brilliant man, but he is not an indulgent man.” – Ben talks about him in Locke Lost Season 2, episode 20, “Two for the road”

In a brief scene at the start of an episode focused on the background of Rose and Bernard, the understanding of viewers of the hierarchy of others. Jack tells Ben that he goes to the “line [they] are not supposed to cross “to conclude an agreement with the group. They will exchange the Walt Lloyd Kidnappé for Henry, which Ben says that the group will never allow it. He knows because, as a leader, he would not authorize Never that of his own goalkeeper.

In this episode, Ana Lucia keeps a watch closely on Ben, but she is not armed after giving her weapon to Jack. She hesitates to open the door to the cell. Locke shouts him through the closed door, beating on it, asking if Henry actually pressed the button. Viewers see Ben’s reaction, a sinister smile that shows how much he is a manipulator. If he was just any other

“Another,” he would probably not be as confident in his ploy to sow discord among the survivors.

It started dynamics in Lost Where John Locke looked for answers and Ben manipulated him with his knowledge.

It is perhaps the index of the great torsion of the identity of Ben Linus which is most obvious than retroactive. At this point, viewers know almost nothing about others and their lifestyle on the island. However, this scene establishes that Ben is where he wants to be and has a much more important plan to be captured by the shipwrecked.

One thing Ben probably didn’t know was why John Locke was so important. However, he knew that the character had a destiny on the island, and he used it to manipulate John after trying to kill Ana Lucia. He told Locke that he is “one of the good” people on the island, and that Ben’s mission was to recover John and bring him back to the camp of others. It is, of course, a lie, but he plays in the direction of Locke’s goal.

How internet and corporate policy accidentally made a 20 -year show a major hit even before it was released

Even before the end of the shooting of the lost pilot’s episode, fans flocked on the internet to talk about the show, helping the series become incredible success.

Despite Locke explaining it in the pilot, the public and the characters do not seem to know of the broader conflict in play. At this stage, Ben is just worried about his grip on power and control of the island. By telling Locke that he is important, Ben made sure that his main rival for leadership would depend entirely on him, and that would allow him to kill Locke.

During the “48 other days”, the public got to know Goodwin, who pretended to be the survivors of the tail section. Ana Lucia’s journey on Lost was a full doubt, and she turned out to make a number of bad choices. She involuntarily killed Shannon, but she deliberately murdered people on and out of the island. However, Ben’s anger against her for having killed her people went beyond simple communion, and it was a clue that he felt a kind of responsibility for them.

  • The title of the episode was mentioned in a deleted flashback scene where Christian Shephard says that having “two for the road” was “good luck”.

  • Some believe that the title is also a ridiculous wink to the actors Michelle Rodridguez and Cynthia Watros arrested for drunkenness.

When Michael kills Ana Lucia and Libby, it was one of the LostThe most shocking dead. That such an elaborate measure has been taken to get Ben is another clue that it is important for others. However, even if Ana Lucia was perhaps the nicer shipwrecked for him, he always wanted to take revenge on her. Ironically, she overcome her murderous impulses, unable to kill the man she knew under the name of Henry Gale despite her vicious attack.

Although he was never really paid, it was clear that Walt was special for others because of his gifts. While Michael is selected captive by the natives, he can see his son for three minutes, although the visit is interrupted. It is because Walt tells Michael that they “claim” to be rustic and live hard. It was a deception to convince Michael that they were not as powerful as they were.

This is the third episode of Lost Topping entirely on the island and at 43:17 is the longest unique episode in the series.

Despite the way Tom Friendly and Beatrice Klugh treat Michael, it is clear that they are not in charge. That no real leader presents himself is a subtle indicator that their leader is back in the wayside. Everyone in this group follows orders, but no one really gives them.

The clearest sign that Ben was important for others and in a leadership role was when Mrs. Klugh asks Michael to save him. Viewers already knew Ben that Walt was too special to give up. When Michael tells them to save Ben themselves, Mrs. Klugh says they can’t. This is because they were under the order not to do it.

One of the musical themes used in the episode for others has become “Ben’s theme”.

In the final of season 2, Ben is clearly upset by “the arrangement” they have made to guarantee his freedom. Once it is revealed that he is the leader of this strange group of Indian island protectors, the clues of past episodes are being set up. Although perhaps missed until the first rewatch of a spectator, it is clear that from the start, Henry Gale was an incredibly important person for the island.
