Season 2 of the solo leveling has just changed major in history and for a good reason

The following contains spoilers for the Solo Manhwa by Dubu (Redice Studio), based on the light novel of Chugong.

SoloThe incredible action scenes were quickly part of one of the largest animated series on the planet, but it is the source equipment that made the series large enough to receive an adaptation as much awaited to start. Considering how Solo Manhwa is understandable that the anime remains very faithful to the source material. Nevertheless, there have been notable changes, although often subtle, throughout the series race which can have major impacts on long -term history.

A change that has taken importance in season 2 lies in the way in which the anime prefigures the source of Jinwoo power through dialogue. The most consecutive modification to date has come in season 2, episode 6, “do not look at my guys”, which saw a nuanced change towards an important moment during the fight between Sung Jinwoo and Kargalgan. Although it is apparently minor on the surface, it could very well change everything about how the anime manages the largest thread of the underlying plot of the series. This could lead to a significant difference between the Manhwa and the anime in the future, but – unlike some of the other cups and more questionable omissions of the Manhwa on which fans have been expressed – this change could actually be a good thing at the end at the end.

Review of episode 6 of season 2 of season 2: the best episode of the season forgets another key detail from Manhwa

In Solo Leveling Season 2 Episode 6, Sung Jinwoo faces Kargalgan, the head of the High Orcs, in one of the best fights of the anime so far.

Kargalgan’s modified dialogue changes the prefiguration of the anime

Tusk recognizes the monarch of the shadow before someone else does it

Interestingly, in Manhwa, the magic form of Tusk, Kargalgan, is in fact the first character (other than the architect at the very beginning of the series) which seems to recognize that Sung Jinwoo is the shadow monarch. While Barça, the chief of the Elves Elves elves, could also say that there is something different about Jinwoo, Kargalgan is the first to refer directly to the Shadow monarch. In the Manhwa, during the fight against Jinwoo, Kargalgan said before the system makes him glitch: “He must be … the monarch!” While the Manhwa adopts this very direct approach by literally calling Jinwoo “the monarch”, the anime keeps his cards closer to his chest.

Igris is also able to say that Jinwoo trains to be replaced by Ashborn during the Arc of the Change of Work, but he never confirms it until the epilogue after the final battle is won.

Has the Japanese subtitles version of the anime said Kargalgan instead “It can’t be … would they really do it …?” This seems to imply that Kargalgan realizes who is Jinwoo, but it goes further than that. Because he received the command to “kill all humans”, and the monarch of the shadow seems to be a human in front of him, he wonders why he would receive exactly this command to kill the monarch of the shadow himself .

In the end, he decides to “take into account the command”, because the “reasons which are without concern”. This change of dialogue gives the impression that Kargalgan is also aware of the rest of the monarchs, rather than the monarch of the shadow, as the Manhwa seems to suggest it. Using the word “would they really do”, he actively wonders why he would receive these orders, adding a little additional intrigue for fans with prior knowledge of the Solo Universe before watching this episode.

So how did we … come to be here? When I engendered for the first time … There was only one thought in my head. Hunt humans! Reason does not matter. I just have to follow this order.

Sung Jinwoo’s new shadow soldier is the most underused solo leveling in the manhwa

The Smur Jinwoo shadow soldiers presented themselves in the anime, but its most recent season 2 episode 6 is by far the most underestimated in the Manhwa.

In addition, this change of dialogue is used to keep the mystery a little more for solely lively viewers. In short, this simulates what the Manhwa was trying to do without giving too much. In the Manhwa, the word “monarch” was intended to be partially censored, as if he could barely be developed on the pepin of the system. The anime used the visuals to represent the problem a little more. It is almost impossible to represent the problem of subtitles, so change the world in English subtitles would only make sense. It will be revealing to see what the English dub does with this change of dialogue when the dub of episode 18 will be released on February 22, because there have been cases where the dub remains even more faithful to the source material than the Japanese version .

However, the whole prefiguration is not entirely deleted. Actually, THE Solo The anime adds an interesting scene that highlights the eyes of the shadow monarch when Jinwoo begins for the first time his attack on the high orcs. It is a great bit of visual narration that only Manhwa readers would fully understand the meaning, but that only animated viewers would simply pass for a cool stylistic detail. Although this has also been briefly shown in a few cases before, as in the quest for change of work, and when Jinwoo fights the boss of the 75th floor of the demon of the Demon, it is never said directly what it means. In this way, the anime uses more subtle forms of visual prefiguration without giving too much. This is actually a positive change, because the anime tries to look at its forces on the Manhwa medium uniquely.

Sung Ilhwan also has a change in dialogue with interesting implications

It is not only the dialogue of Kargalgan which prefigures the true condition of Jinwoo in Solosecond season. Another major moment goes through Jinwoo’s father, Sung Ilhwan, in season 2, episode 3, “Another long way to go”. In the episode, Jinwoo’s father is questioned by Hwang Dongsoo, who works for the United States government trying to find out more about the circumstances behind the dissimosition of ILHWAN and the subsequent reappearance in a door. During this conversation, ILHWAN suggests that he knows the truth behind doors and magic animals, and even drops some subtle clues behind their real lens. However, a minor change in dialogue in the anime suggests the biggest role of Jinwoo even more throughout the conflict.

In the Manhwa, he told Dongsoo that, during the inevitable war to come, “amateurs will be eaten or enslaved”. It doesn’t really say much about their enemy, because magic animals are definitely eating hunters, and the most intelligent magic animals like high orcs or ice elves would certainly not be over humans to be enslaved. However, in the anime, a slight alteration makes a key difference in the way the conflict is presented. According to ILHWAN in the anime, “the figures will not help. Most will be devoured, either enslaved and used against us. Although the change is only adding a few words, the implications are major.

The figures will not help you. Most will be devoured, or enslaved and used against us.

Monarques in solo levels, explained

The cosmic aspect of solo leveling is not yet explored in the anime, in particular the chaotic creation of primary antagonists: monarchs.

In the Solo The version of anime dialogue, hunters will not only be enslaved, but they will also be used against their own people. This is important, because the key to Jinwoo power as a shadow monarch is to transform the dead into his faithful servants to be used against his enemies. This change is already notable to change the way the anime prefigures Jinwoo’s capacities, but there is another interesting omission in the interaction of Ilhwan with Dongsoo that anime fans do not even know that they are missing .

At a later time of Solo Manhwa, Dongsoo has a flashback on his fight with Ilhwan, in which he remembers Jinwoo’s father said to him: “Never set foot in Korea. I say that not for the good of my son, but yours. You will not be able to close your eyes even when you are dead. Although this presents itself as a threat to Dongsoo, only the reader can know that the real reason why Dongsoo will not be able to close his eyes after death is because he will become the ghost soldier of Jinwoo.

The solo upgrade anime changes the way history strengthens Jinwoo’s capacities

The revelation of the system can end up being more shocking for anime fans only than for Manhwa readers

It was a common point of criticism to emphasize how Jinwoo is a more humanized character and less upset in the anime as opposed to the Manhwa, which is certainly a good detail to note. In a way, this could be considered prejudicial to history, because the point is that it slowly makes one with the shadow monarch, and therefore lost his humanity in the process. However, this is only part of history.

Buying this argument that Jinwoo should be more immediately upset because it becomes the shadow monarch presumes that Jinwoo finally loses his humanity entirely at a given time in the Manhwa, which is never the case. Jinwoo struggling with his loss of humanity more slowly in the anime, and more actively the fighter, gives the global story more tension and will in fact have more sense at the end of the series. The anime is in no way by removing the strangest side of Jinwoo, far from it, but there is certainly a more apparent internal conflict which is more interesting to look at.

10 Best changes than the solo upgrade anime makes Manhwa

The solo leveling anime is impressive in an impressively source material, but there are also many ways to change the Manhwa for the best.

In the same way, The deletion of dialogue refers directly to the Shadow monarch, or subtly making the role of Jinwoo in the end of the game in other places, helps to feed the mystery of Jinwoo’s power and identity. THE Solo The anime does not completely remove the prefiguration present in the Manhwa, but the modification of the prefiguration methods it uses. This could have the final result to make the biggest twist of the plot of the series more shocking for anime fans only, because it preserves Enigma a little longer.

It is a good long -term change, even if it has the consequence of giving the impression that the series departs in small ways (although sometimes more major) of source equipment. In the end, the story is still very clearly directed in the same direction as the Manhwa and the Light novel, and Jinwoo will obviously become the real monarch of shadow at the end.

That in mind, while adding the word “monarch” to the Kargalgan scene in the Manhwa has never really given everything, it did not give fans either vital information that they do not get Ultimately. It was still just a little allusion to the reality of Jinwoo’s power. On the other hand, by completely removing the word, the anime preserves an additional surprise element. Fans still know that Jinwoo is the Shadow Monarch class, but the meaning of this title is kept mysterious for the moment.

Stressing the term monarch in the Manhwa only served to give a key detail that was not yet necessary. THE Solo The changes in the anime keep the scenario underlying while making the clues feel more like subtle nods to Manhwa readers rather than potential spoilers of the great twist. In the end, when Jinwoo manages to learn the truth about his world and his powers, anime fans only can very well be just as surprised as him.

Season 2 of solo leveling is now in difficulty Crunchyroll.
