Nintendo-related leaks and rumors are emerging left and right, leading to the anticipated announcement of the Nintendo Switch’s successor. All this time, Pokémon fans eagerly await news regarding the next game in the hit franchise Pokémon Legends: ZA. A new Pokémon Trading Card Game the brand may have narrowed a potential release window.

As reported by PokéBeachtwo new Pokémon-brands linked to Pokémon TCG have been filed for potential set names “Mega Brave” and “Mega Symphony”. If the names are relatively basic and subject to change, that’s enough to develop many theories. However, the most notable word is “Mega”, which likely refers to the Mega Stones which are expected to make a return in Pokémon Legends: ZA. This would mean these Pokémon TCG the sets will be taken from this game marking the first time Pokémon TCG will mainly feature Mega Evolution cards from the XY era, which spans from 2013 to 2016.

In its report, PokéBeach states: “We typically find out about brands around six to eight months before their sets release, so we could see them as early as July.” Since Pokémon TCG sets based on games usually release shortly after that game’s release, that would mean Pokémon Legends: ZA may be released in May or June. PokéBeach throws some caution into its speculation, stating, “However, trademarks are sometimes revealed out of order, pushing their release dates later in this range.”

We usually learn about brands about six to eight months before their sets release, so we might see them as early as July.

Even if “Mega Brave” and “Mega Symphony” are released after July, Pokémon fans may still be considering a summer release for Pokémon Legends: ZA. Additionally, this version would drop shortly after the expected release of the Switch 2, making it one of the fastest releases. Pokémon releases on any Nintendo console. Pokémon Legends: ZA is only confirmed for an original Switch version so far, but could be announced for the Switch 2 during the console reveal. Otherwise, the Switch 2 is confirmed to be backwards compatible.

Additionally, a recent Pokémon Go A leak from data miners suggests that there will be a Pokémon Presents stream around February 27, also known as “Pokémon Day”, fueling speculation that an official announcement is imminent.

The most detailed Nintendo Switch 2 leak was shown on X, detailing the console’s appearance from every angle.

Pokémon Legends: ZA is the second match of the Pokémon Legends spin-off series, the first game being Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Although independent from the main RPG series, Pokémon Legends: Arceus made bold moves in visuals and gameplay, leading to Pokémon fans view it much more favorably than the main series Pokémon releases on the Switch.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus took place in the ancient times of the Sinnoh region, then known as the Hisui region, and introduced many new regional Pokémon and unique Pokémon evolutions. Pokémon Legends: ZA will not return to the Hisui region, but will take place in Lumiose Town. Lumiose City is the central city of Generation VI’s Kalos region, which is being redeveloped to become more suitable for humans and Pokémon to coexist.

The announcement of Pokémon Legends: ZA was celebrated by Pokémon fans who long thought Generation VI was incomplete without a third game to compliment Pokémon X and Y. Pokémon Legends: ZA will be the closest fans who can “Pokémon Z“.
