TasteThe first season of was a success, with just one episode feeling somewhat lacking when considering the season as a whole. The penultimate episode of the anime did not meet standards Taste together, but that doesn’t really mean much considering the highly rated episodes. Episode 11 felt very much like a transitional episode and introduced too many things at once. While some of these elements paid off in the finale, others seemed inconsequential.
Episode 12 “Let’s Go to the House of Doom” was the perfect season finale and showed why Tasteit was such a success. From chaotic comedic moments, to downright scary new enemies, to the mystery surrounding the anime’s new character, the episode builds to a breathtaking cliffhanger that leaves many lives hanging in the balance.

Jiji is the most charismatic character in Dandadan
Let the Jiji Okarun Bromance begin
From the moment Jiji came on the scene, it was all over for Taste fans. His charisma spills off the screen, and while I don’t usually watch the Dub, Aleks Le, his English voice actor, does an incredible job bringing him to life. What makes Jiji so interesting is that even though he exudes positive energy that almost resembles a caffeinated chipmunk, there is a lot of darkness surrounding him. Episode 12 makes this clear when it is revealed that the yokai haunting Jiji’s house is directly haunting him. This inner conflict between high positivity and terrifying darkness gives rise to a very complex character.
Unlike Aira, who is very much a unique spirit – at least from what we’ve seen so far – Jiji has more levels. His childhood bond with Momo is not only interesting to the audience, but also what it does narratively to Okarun. While for most of the season Okarun has been more reactive than active, Jiji’s entrance was a massive trigger. We learn more about what motivates Okarun, not only when it comes to Momo, but also when it comes to him as a person. Jiji pushes Okarun to the point of becoming unbalanced – and that’s a good thing. This budding bromance between these two characters is a great addition to an anime already rich in great characters, both human and non-human. Aira has not been present for a few episodes and this has not weakened the plot. While Jiji leaving could easily make things less interesting.
Episode 12 of Dandadan changes genre again!
The anime explores a more mystery-solving vibe
One thing that struck me the most TasteThe first season of is how often the anime has changed genres. From high school romantic comedy to action adventure to almost Dragon Ball confrontations (yes, I would consider that its own genre). It’s not easy to realize what Taste so easily and it’s all thanks to Science Saru, the brilliant production team behind the anime adaptation of the manga, alongside director Fuga Yamashiro and screenwriter Hiroshi Seko.

Dandadan’s English Anime Dub Is Better Than You Think
The English dub of Dandadan stands out in 2024, blending sharp wit, relevant slang, and passionate voice acting.
“Let’s Go to the House of Doom” takes the anime in a different direction. This time, in an almost Scooby-Doo atmosphere, as the trio – Momo, Okarun and Jiji – travel to Jiji’s hometown to try to understand the mystery surrounding why and how Jiji’s parents ended up there. hospital. Taking the trio to a whole new place, exploring the city and the mysteries surrounding it (or buried within it) made Taste all the more fun. The episode teases a group of new enemies, who appear to be the citizens of the town. Every time they appeared on screen, they seemed to stare in a very haunting way. Whether the rest of the anime will adopt more of this tone or continue to morph into what the story needs remains to be seen.
Dandadan Episode 12 “Let’s Go to the House of Doom” Offers a Huge Cliffhanger
Threats surround Okarun, Jiji and Momo
All worries and concerns regarding Taste the collage of the landing immediately disappeared as soon as the episode began. While the Anatomy Model storyline ultimately seemed inconsequential – yes, it gave Okarun a boost, but Jiji does an even better job at that – the rest of the episode, thankfully, didn’t suffer . The more the episode focused on Okarun and Jiji, the more entertaining it became. The chemistry between these two characters is beyond infectious and, for once, a shonen’s budding rivalry is based on true friendship.

Dandadan Season 2 Gets Major Update From Crunchyroll
Fans don’t have long to wait for one of the most acclaimed series of 2024, with Dandadan Season 2 announced with a release window and a stunning new visual.
The Momo hot springs sequence may cause some uproar, but sequences of this nature are not strange in Tastethe world. There is always a horror that creeps in around anything related to sex or sexuality. In fact, if we looked Taste as a coming-of-age story, all of these terrifying elements of growing up and sexuality actually make sense. Think about the Live Action Horror genre and how many times these allegories have been performed. Anyone proclaiming this as fan service needs to take a step back and reconsider it from that perspective. Not once were any of these borderline moments glorified in any way. They are presented and intended to be grating and uncomfortable.
TasteThe first season of ended on a high note with a jaw-dropping cliffhanger that will likely have fans either speculating about what comes next or rushing to the manga to find out immediately. One thing is sure, Taste fans are in it for the long haul. With the mystery surrounding the construction of Jiji’s house and Momo’s life at stake, there is no doubt that TasteThe second season of will be full of everything fans love about the anime. Let’s hope no changes in production happen between now and then, because the last thing we need is Taste suffering from the curse of the bad second season.
