A new report claims that James Gunn’s Justice League film will be based on a popular DC Comics story.

James Gunn denies another rumor

A few days ago, information appeared online that Gunn would be attached to write and direct a live-action film. Justice League: The New Frontier. While the director was on Threads, a fan took the opportunity to ask him if this information was real, to which the director replied: “No, sorry. There is no truth in this. That said, I love New Frontier and its magical alternate history is a huge influence on DC Studios.”

The New Frontier is a limited series published in 2004 by the writer and artist Darwyn Cooke. This story received great reviews and won numerous awards. An animated film based on Justice League: The New Frontier was released in 2008.
