With four episodes of Dragon Ball DAIMA released, suspicions about the new character, Glorio, only grow. In the latest episode, “Chatty”, the crew of Goku, Supreme Kai Shin and the mysterious Agent Glorio continue after their planes are stolen. Although they face tribulations due to their lack of travel, they progress well through the Third Demon Realm thanks to the knowledge of the Glorio region. During their travels, Glorio evokes the Three Demon Dragon Balls and the Tamagami, protectors of the new set.
While at first it seemed like it was Goku’s idea to go after the Tamagami and Demon Dragon Balls, many fans were quick to point out that Glorio almost led Goku to take on this quest. Teasing him with the potential for powerful opponents, a first wish on mystical orbs, and even agreeing with his plan to forgo saving Dende in favor of grabbing the Dragon Balls. The team behind Dragon Ball DAIMA highlighted a moment that could have foreshadowed Glorio’s eventual betrayal.
What the public knows about Glorio de Daima
The mysterious character introduced in Episode 1: “Conspiracy”
A telling example of the character of Glorio comes from his introduction in the first episode of ALWAYS“Conspiracy”, where he was seen sneaking around the Supreme King’s Palace to spy on Gomah, Degesu and Dr. Arinsu’s evil plot against Goku. The next time he appears is two days later, when he offers his plane and services to Goku, offering to be his guide to the Demon Realm so that Goku can defeat King Gomah. Although this would initially place him on the heroic side, Shin quickly notes how distrustful Glorio is.
This Glorio guy… don’t let your guard down on him.- Shin
Although Shin doesn’t have all the details, fans know that Glorio lied to the actors. This begins a mystery as to whether or not Goku can trust Glorio. This mystery develops further as Glorio’s less savory personality and approach to situations becomes more evident in later episodes. Whether it’s haggling over the price of things, using a gun during a fight in a more martial arts-focused series is a cause for concern, or being from the Third Realm of Demons, which seems to be home to the most seedy and criminal demons in the Demon Realm. Since his introduction, the only information fans have gotten regarding Glorio is that he is an agent of the Third King of the Demon Realm. Where others Dragon Ball the characters quickly express themselves to Goku, Glorio keeps all his cards close to his chest.
The clue to Glorio’s betrayal
Daima Episode 4 Makes a Key Direct Decision to Hint at the Future
In episode 4, “Chatty”, Goku convinces his team that they should search for the Demon Dragon Balls as a priority, making their adventure much more action-packed than previously expected. While Goku looks forward to this new challenge and journey, Shin looks at Glorio suspiciously. Even though Shin himself was not Dragon Ballthe strongest or most confident character to trust, as many fans have pointed out his incompetence in the pasthe is a much more intelligent character than Goku, who is the Saiyan with the lowest IQ. The scene only lasts a few seconds, but the slow pan from Glorio with a shadow on his face to Shin, who even begins to sweat from the suspicion, is extremely revealing. But that’s not the only thing that stands out in this scene.

Glorio from Dragon Ball DAIMA is strong enough to kill this DBZ villain in one hit
Glorio is more powerful than any Dragon Ball DAIMA fan could have imagined.
Many details suggest Glorio is destined to betray the cast. The music on stage does not reflect Dragon BallThe familiar jovial tunes of or action-packed rock, but it’s more of a darker, brooding tune akin to that given to a villain. What’s most telling is what happened for a brief second, a brief blink, and you could miss it for a moment; Glorio smiles once the scene is over. It’s a moment that none of the other characters can see because it’s quick and happens when no one is looking. Glorio only smiles whenever he gets away with a bargain or scheme, as fans saw earlier in the episode. Glorio’s smile implies that he manipulated Goku and Shin into chasing the dragon balls. for a purpose that can only be theorized.
Why would Glorio want the Dragon Balls?
Glorio’s Hidden Wish Could Change Everything
Dragon Balls allow the user to grant the wish of their choice provided they follow the rules established by the creators of the objects. Along with Shenron and the Earth Dragon Balls, the orbs were as powerful as Kami and Dende, and that alone made them extremely useful. The Dragon Balls bring many characters back from the dead, granting them immortality, and giving Piccolo an incredibly huge power-up. Dragon Ball Super Superhero.
ALWAYS featured a Namekian who was even stronger than Dende and the creator of the first set of Demon Dragon Balls. While no one knows the extent of these Dragon Ball powers yet, that only makes their potential limitless, meaning Glorio’s wish could be anything and change everything. With so many unknowns about Glorio, theorizing can be risky business, but there are three distinct possibilities for why Glorio would want the Dragon Balls.
Glorio’s quest for ultimate power
Glorio seems powerful, but this strength is much less than a younger Goku. Where Glorio has to use a blaster to defeat his enemies, Goku can dispatch multiple enemies without breaking a sweat. Glorio might want to use the Dragon Balls to become an even stronger demon, maybe even the strongest in the world. Stronger than Dabura or even Majin Buu.
This power would make him the biggest threat on the field and could launch a power-hungry quest for revenge on Glorio’s side. Be it on Gomah or any demonic type as supreme overlord. As Goku and the cast continue to encounter more Demon Realm characters in this very well-designed world, they will likely encounter more allies that Goku would rather ensure are not ruled by someone evil.
Glorio wishes to be the new supreme king
With Dabura’s defeat, an absolute power vacuum is at play. While Gomah has assumed the role of king, Glorio might want to play for the throne in his own way. A commoner like him can’t obtain the throne through any legitimate means, so using the Dragon Balls would be his next best bet. This wish could turn Glorio into a villain and a well-intentioned extremist who wants to change the Demon Realm.
This possible scenario also means that while he may not have started the series with the intention of betraying Goku and his friends, he took it once he saw the opportunity. With Glorio’s similar design to that of Mira, a character from Dragon Ball Xenoverse who was created to succeed Dabura, Toriyama could reuse this trait and give Glorio this arc to become the next king of the Demon Realm.

Glorio could work with Dr. Arinsu
A potential angle with Glorio is a connection with Dr. Arinsu. Shin’s mysterious sister, fans learned in the first episode of ALWAYSmade a striking appearance when she was the one to suggest that Goku be reduced to the age of a child. Then, she traveled to Earth before Gomah and Degesu for her own reasons. Since then, Dr. Arinsu has been mysteriously working on his goals in the background. Glorio has a similar design to Towa, a character heavily involved in Mira’s creation.
Glorio and Mira also share design appearances. This could be Toriyama’s subtle message that Glorio and Dr. Arinsu are more connected than fans have been led to believe. This could also explain why Shin is so immediately wary of Glorio, perhaps being able to sense his sister’s magic within him. As for what Glorio is doing with Dr. Arinsu, it’s hard to say at the moment, but perhaps they are both working towards the same goal. A goal that would eliminate Gomah and everyone else in their path and this goal might require the Demon Dragon Balls to work.
It is inevitable that Glorio will betray Goku
Glorio’s betrayal is a question of when, not if
With this foreshadowing, the question is not if Glorio will betray Goku but when he will betray them. , potentially around the middle, as most stories do. This will be the first time that Goku and his allies have been betrayed in this way. Although they have had no qualms about working with villains in the past, most of Goku’s allies are former antagonists. Goku has never been betrayed by an ally within his inner circle, so fans will soon see how he reacts to this moment through ALWAYS. However, with Goku’s pure heart, a betrayal likely won’t change his character and he will bring Glorio back to the good side.
