Kolchak Meets Classic Monsters Authors Praise Character’s Longevity
James Aquilone, owner of Monstrous Books and author of Kolchak versus Kongaspoke with CBR earlier this year about Kolchak’s influence in the world of horror and how the character has remained relevant over the years since his debut in the 1970s. “I love the idea of a writer/reporter as a hero,” Aquilone said. “It’s a very attractive idea for any writer. How can you not love a person who kills the monster and then writes the story? Kolchak is a fighter for the truth, and that’s still relevant today.”
