Superiorthe canine superhero created by David Ramirez
At the time we dedicated an article to the three most particular Spanish parodies of Superman, two of which had an editorial path to take into account, especially in the case of Superlópez, which continues today, something that cannot be said of Serpenman. , while the third, that is, Soporman, has only one appearance in a third-party publication which does not exceed three issues.
However, in this article we will also talk about a parody of superheroes, created by a Spanish author, of which no more than one copy has been published. We are referring to Superior (whose name, obviously, is made up of the words super and dog). And the best way to do this is to analyze the comic about the character that he wrote in 2009 David Ramirez for the publisher Fandogamy. Below you can see the full cover.
The comic by Superior It works as a parody of the superhero genre, where the protagonist represents the character we would never want to save us, since when he solves something it’s usually by pure chance.
Although it is a stand-alone comic, Superior It doesn’t tell the story in a linear fashion, but begins in the middle of the action, which means the actor has to step in and hope that everything is explained in due time.
Thus we discover that when the blind Paco Pigal Put on a special dog collar and become the superhero. Superiorbut you can’t spend more than half an hour in that identity otherwise the canine personality will take over the human one.
However, the comic does not limit itself to parodying the superhero genre, since, as can be seen in the image that accompanies this paragraph, in a certain panel several cats of completely different origins appear as if they belonged to the same cosmos.
This comic doesn’t go beyond trying to entertain the reader and in that respect it’s fine, so you can’t ask for more.
Superior It is completed with a summary of the work, the author’s biography and some additional images.
Superior is correctly published by Fandogamyin hardback format with flaps and in color. Its measurements are 18 x 25, it consists of 48 pages and has a price of 8 euros.
David Ramirezborn in 1974, he discovered his passion for the world of comics very early on, be they parody comics, such as Yellow Humor (2001) or Making Friends (2001 – 2006); youth, including Minimonsters (2000 – 2015) and Dinokid (in force since 2000), or aimed at an adult audience, with titles such as B3 (2005) and Sexo Rare (2013), as well as irritating stories about stupidity, as is the case of the comic analyzed in this article. He currently draws an interactive comic on his Instagram Con 2 Cojones.
Paco Pigal He is blind and, despite this, a good person. But it’s the others who fail to see that he hides a surprising secret… it’s the secret identity of Superiorthe new superhero flying over the city (with more pain than glory)! Will he be able to survive the madness unleashed by his archenemy? Cannibal chef? Will he be able to prevent the destruction caused by the Titanic Steps? Will he be able to thwart the mysterious man’s sinister plans Rin Ran Ren? So much evil can be a tough nut to crack… even for Superior!
