The following contains spoilers for Agatha All Along, episodes 1 and 2, now streaming on Disney+.
Agatha forever returns to Westview three years later WandaVision concluded on Disney+. It was in this town that Wanda Maximoff imprisoned the townspeople in a Hex, creating her own perfect world inspired by the American sitcoms she grew up watching. However, unbeknownst to Wanda, another magic user had entered Westview in hopes of stealing her power: Agatha Harkness. This witch disguised herself as Wanda’s nosy neighbor Agnes to infiltrate the Hex and learn more about Wanda’s mastery of chaos magic.
Eventually, Agatha revealed her true identity to Wanda and confirmed that she was interfering in the otherwise perfectly controlled world of Westview. Agatha deciphered the mystery of Wanda’s power, discovering that she had latent magical abilities long before her exposure to the Mind Stone and that she was supposedly the mythical being known as the Scarlet Witch.. In a final battle, Agatha attempted to steal Wanda’s magic. Wanda, however, outwitted Agatha, casting runes to prevent Agatha from using her own abilities. Ultimately, it was Wanda who stole Agatha’s power. She eventually left Agatha in Westview, trapped in the belief that she was Agnes, the nosy neighbor persona she had created.
WandaVision Reality TV Continues for Agatha Harkness
The world of WandaVision sitcom gives way to Agatha’s crime drama All Along
The world of WandaVision The story unfolded in the style of all-time sitcoms, with each episode adopting the aesthetics and production techniques of a different era and series. Elements such as the opening credits, soundtrack, and the black-and-white color of the early episodes were also part of the story of the universe. Cut off from the rest of the world by the spell she had cast on the town, Wanda’s time in Westview was captured by SWORD in the form of television transmissions from the WandaVision situation comedy. At the end of WandaVisionAfter Wanda’s battle with Agatha Harkness and the destruction of the Hex, this television-inspired reality seems to have been swept away for good.
After stripping Agatha of her magic during their fight in the WandaVision At the end of the film, Wanda approaches the defeated witch. Wanda tells Agatha that Westview would become her prison and that she would give her the role she had chosen for herself, “the nosy neighbor.” With her chaos magic, Wanda transformed Agatha Harkness into the unassuming Agnes, erasing her mind of her true identity. Agatha was last seen on WandaVisionShe was left with a puzzled smile on her face when Wanda told her that Westview was now her home. Agnes was still bound by Wanda’s fate when Agatha foreverThe first episode has begun, although the effects of the spell seem to have gone beyond what the ending had intended. WandaVision suggested.
Agatha forever The episode probably didn’t start out the way most fans expected. Agnes was revealed to have become a police detective, investigating a murder case. A few cop show tropes and some notably melodramatic dialogue were the first signs that viewers realized all was not as it seemed. The opening titles of the first episode confirmed that Agnes’ new life as a detective was likely an effect of Wanda’s magic. The opening credits are listed Agatha foreverThe names of the characters in Wanda are those of the actors in the series, whose credits claim that it is based on a Danish series called “WandaVisdysen”.
Additionally, the opening sequence ended with the title “Agnes of Westview”, confirming that this was not the opening of Agatha foreverbut to another reality inspired by television, similar to the world of Wanda’s sitcom. As Agnes continued her investigation into the murder case, it became clear that the victim was in fact Wanda Maximoff herself. The cause of her death, having been crushed by a large, heavy object, matched Wanda’s real-life death in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of MadnessIt’s possible that locking Agatha into the role she had assumed in Wanda’s sitcoms helped maintain Wanda’s original spell – albeit only for Agnes.

Once the spell was broken, Agatha realized that the crime drama she was living in existed only in her own head, with the rest of her neighbors simply humoring her, viewing her as some sort of eccentric. Her neighbor, Herb, told Agatha that she seemed a bit obsessed with crime shows these days, suggesting that this particular hallucination was recent and not one that Agnes had been experiencing in the three years since the events of WandaVision.
Rio and ‘Teen’ Freed Agatha from Her Prison WandaVision
Wanda’s spell was finally broken and Agatha Harkness was once again herself.
Clearly, Wanda’s spell didn’t just trap Agatha in her Agnes persona. The spell seemed to keep her in her own shifting fantasies. At one point, Rio Vidal, the Green Witch, who was posing as an FBI agent in Agatha’s imagined crime drama reality, asked Agatha if being a police detective really matched how she saw herself. This suggested that the illusion had been created by some corner of Agatha’s mind. Since Wanda’s sitcom-inspired reality was constructed from her childhood love of American sitcoms, it’s possible that Agatha was simply a fan of cop shows and thus created one for herself.
Since Herb has suggested that Agatha’s interest in crime fiction was recent, it is perhaps more likely that Agatha’s subconscious chose the genre as the appropriate format to process the news of Wanda’s death, dressing it up as a murder mystery. Whatever the reason for Agatha’s excursion into the world of sordid detective dramas, Wanda’s spell did not last much longer than Wanda herself. It is possible that Wanda’s death weakened the hold of her magic on Agatha, as Agatha was clearly impressed that a teenager had managed to break the Scarlet Witch’s spell.
It is possible that Wanda’s death weakened her magic’s hold on Agatha, as Agatha was clearly impressed that a teenager had managed to break the Scarlet Witch’s spell.
The teenager in question has so far only been referred to as “Teen”, due to the fact that all the information he has tried to reveal about himself has been mysteriously hidden from Agatha. What is clear is his passion for witchcraft and his determination to follow the witches’ path. He first appeared in the Agatha episode “Agnes of Westview”, breaking into her house. After being apprehended and interrogated by Agatha, Teen began to shatter the false reality Agatha had been trapped in, helping her see the real world outside of the hallucinated detective show. While it was Teen’s actions that allowed Agatha to begin to see through the illusion of “Agnes of Westview”, it was Rio who ultimately pushed Agatha to break free of the Agnes persona.
Rio went to the morgue, where Agnes had gone to inspect the body from the murder case. The library slip the deceased had been found with was now attached to her foot like a toe tag. Rio helped reveal two names on the slip, the names of the last two people to possess the Darkhold: Wanda Maximoff and Agatha Harkness. With Rio’s memory of herself awakened, Agnes began to tear her clothes off. With each layer she removed, another of Agnes’s WandaVision The appearance was revealed, until finally Agnes was gone and Agatha Harkness was restored.
Wanda’s spell left Agatha without her power
Agatha Harkness remembered herself, but Wanda took her magic permanently
Although Agatha forever The novel begins with Agatha Harkness regaining her memory and her true identity, but she is still suffering from the effects of her fight with Wanda. During their fight, Wanda managed to cast runes around Agatha, preventing her from using her magic. While she was in this vulnerable state, Wanda drained Agatha of her magic, rendering her powerless before she was even trapped in Agnes’ personality. Now Agnes is gone and Agatha is back, but still without her magic. She revealed that she was able to drain the magic of other witches, but only if they attacked her with their powers first. So far, none of the other witches Agatha has encountered have given her the chance to take their power.

Whoever succeeds in overcoming the challenges of the Road (itself an ethereal realm, summoned by witches) will obtain whatever their heart desires. In Agatha and Teen’s case, it is power. Teen has studied witchcraft, but is unable to use the magic he has learned on himself. Agatha yearns to become the witch she once was before she crossed paths with the Scarlet Witch, and will thus travel the Witches’ Road for the second time in her life.
