Irish gangster, Jimmy O’Phelan Murdered the Innocent Family to Kidnap Abel because he was Jax’s son and O’Phelan needed safe passage out of Northern Ireland. He was fleeing the IRA and SAMCRO, and using Abel as leverage would give him the best advantage.

Mark and Katey Petrie were collateral damage. Their deaths were hard to watch because they were simply loving and caring parents who were going to give Abel a good life.
