The following contains spoilers for Suicide Squad Isekai Episode 10, streaming now on Max and Hulu.
In Isekai Suicide Squad, Taks Force X has essentially stepped into an isekai anime. In this alternate reality, dragons and magic exist to form a mutually beneficial relationship with the Kingdom. Instead, DC supervillains are now waging the Kingdom’s war against the terrifying King of the Undead. It’s certainly one way to form an alliance, especially one born out of necessity more than anything else. Suicide Squad Isekai reaches its final episode with a stylish counterattack that shows the true power of the titular Suicide Squad.
Produced by Warner Bros. Animation Japan and animated by Wit Studio, Suicide Squad Isekai Episode 10 drops the audience right into the action, where the super-villain team is locked in battle against the zombie army of the Undead King. While normal humans may find this situation horrifying, the Suicide Squad is in their natural element, surrounded by chaos. The finale is high-octane entertainment, with the team’s usual shenanigans cranked up to 11 with the addition of magic to the equation. It’s inconceivable that a ragtag team of career criminals, metahuman or otherwise, would fight a dark lord to save the world. But anything is possible when you give people the right chance. That, after all, is the true magic of isekai.

Suicide Squad Isekai: Cast and Character Guide
Suicide Squad Isekai features a massive, sprawling cast that subverts what fans know about DC’s iconic team as they enter a dangerous new world.
Episode 10 begins in medias res, continuing with Princess Fione’s fight against the undead king while the Suicide Squad happily joins the fray. With the team scattered across the battlefield, the narrative also receives the same treatment. Oddly enough, The Suicide Squad travels in pairs, allowing characters to play against each other. Rick Flagg and Clayface make a fun comedic duo when they find an undead dragon guarding the real Enchantress. Peacemaker and Nanaue’s team-up feels like a tag team wrestling match. Cecil and Deadshot bring a buddy cop vibe that no one expected. Finally, Harley Quinn makes the Enchantress’ astral form her dance partner. Jumping from scene to scene, the episode attempts to tell a complete story from the villains’ perspective. While they outwit their rivals from their homeworld, it’s a meaningless victory when the real villain is in the sky, orchestrating world domination with his undead soldiers.
Suicide Squad Isekai seems to have saved all its energy for the end, as the finale is nothing but non-stop action. There’s no resting moment where the characters stop to take stock of the situation. Instead, they give it their all, decimating enemy after enemy. Episode 10 has a high-stakes feel thanks to the constant taunts of the Undead King and his endless army, but it lacks the desperation that should accompany an approaching Armageddon. Characters get hit in the crossfire, but they bounce back almost immediately with the conviction to continue the story. As a result, the audience never feels the mounting pressure, and the Suicide Squad never truly feels challenged as they crush the army of disposable skeletons like it’s nothing. Even when they do face challenges, there are countless deus ex machina in place to move the team and the story forward.
Although it is called deus ex machina from a narrative point of view, in the universe of Suicide Squad IsekaiThis is called magic. The plot isn’t very developed here. The Suicide Squad has to save the princess from the zombie army and kill the Undead King. But it’s still a difficult task that no one wants to do unless there’s something to level the playing field. Magic is nothing new in anime. But as an animated adaptation of a Western media, Suicide Squad Isekai brings out the big guns with a Sailor Moon reference. It’s not only bold and beautiful, but it also gives this isekai anime something it’s been sorely lacking all this time: hard-hitting magical chaos.

Suicide Squad Isekai Reveals Harley Quinn’s Sidekick – and Her Best Story Yet
Suicide Squad Isekai teases Harley Quinn with a new sidekick in what might just be the Jester’s deepest and most liberating story yet.
The Suicide Squad has always been good at fighting as a team. It may be something they do out of necessity, but they’ve been surprisingly good at it from the beginning. However, the team has always struggled to stick together when they’re not on the battlefield, with big egos taking over. Suicide Squad Isekai Episode 10 poses a different kind of challenge for the characters, as the story splits them into groups of two and sends them on their own paths. As usual, there’s some back-and-forth, because what good is a dysfunctional team without some bickering? But over the course of the anime, Harley, Deadshot, Clayface, Nanaue, Peacemaker, and even Flagg have learned to work together. Especially now that their lives, as well as the lives of the Kingdom’s inhabitants, are on the line. While they’re still devious at heart, their rise from supervillain to superhero shows that their growth as characters finally pays off in the finale.
This is best seen when the members of the Suicide Squad actually listen to each other’s instructions rather than ignoring them. Right at the climax, when Clayface and Flagg find Enchantress’ unconscious body, the team works together to revive her while continuing to fight off hordes of enemies. Later, the Suicide Squad even works together to take down the Undead King, using their wits and cunning to stay alive. In the hubbub of battle, it’s not always easy to keep up with the characters. But the Suicide Squad’s loud and obnoxious behavior, as a team or not, really sets them apart from the rest. Even the Undead King, with all his unholy magic, doesn’t have the same charm or personality to counter the Suicide Squad’s united front.. And that says a lot about characters who, not so long ago, were persecuted and incarcerated after being unfairly labeled as villains.
As the main character, Harley Quinn gets a lot of the attention in episode 10, if only for a brief moment, as the action keeps changing scenes like channels on a television. Harley’s voice actress, Anna Nagase, has a lot of fun with all the swearing and profanity. Much like Deadshot’s voice actor, Reigo Yamaguchi, who unlocks new powers to go along with his sharpshooting. Shizuka Ito, as Enchantress, brings more villainy with her than the Undead King. That said, it’s the script that lets the latter down, as Ito never fails when it comes to his acting. The Undead King was supposed to be the big bad of the finale, but instead, he turned out to be just another villain that the Suicide Squad easily defeats, albeit with a little help.

As always, Wit Studio is at its best when it comes to character animation. Suicide Squad Isekai The animation and character art have been questionable at times, but the finale is where Wit really shines. From Clayface transforming into a woolly dragon to the underwater battle between Nanaue and Killer Croc, the characters are easy to follow despite the chaos that is everywhere. In fact, the rapid back-and-forth between scenes makes the episode seem more hectic than it actually is. In any other anime, this fast pace would make it easy for the animators to hide their mistakes and become complacent. However, Wit Studio has come a long way, and their talented animators know better than to make the same mistakes again. Episode 10 is not only Suicide Squad Isekai best animated episode, but also one of the best in Wit history.
The mind does some of its best work here. The special effects are on another level in episode 10, especially the magic effects, which take a special place in the story. For example, watching Deadshot don the hero armor and blast zombies to bits with his new weapon is incredibly satisfying to watch. That said, the real star of the episode isn’t the magical attacks or the colorful light show, but the team’s transformation into their own versions of magical girls. It’s fun to see Wit have fun with the animation, as it pairs wonderfully with the anime’s wild energy, bridging the story and animation.
Suicide Squad Isekai Episode 10 moves at a fast pace. There’s a lot of action and a bit of comedy here and there. But the best part is that the story ends in the best possible way, making heroes of the once dysfunctional team of DC Comics supervillains. The story of Suicide Squad Isekai The Suicide Squad is not alone. Through their misadventures, they have changed many lives, including those of the isekai world they saved. Suicide Squad Isekai Episode 10 is where the magic of isekai finally blossoms in DC Comics’ collaboration with Wit Studio, and it also serves as an ode to second chances.
