The Transformers have always been one of the most prominent franchises to capture the imagination of children since their debut in the United States in 1984. Comparable to other toy lines that have spun off on television, such as Masters of the Universe, the Transformers have always had the impressive idea of being robots that transform into vehicles. But as the series has gone on, the real appeal for fans has been how these robotic humanoids have dealt with very real problems, close to humanity, through the all too familiar idea of war. In comparison, these cool characters have become soldiers with roles and personalities that are not unlike real people in the military.
