Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Episode 5 Makes Up For A Weak Wizard Battle With Mercphobias Rampage

The following contains spoilers for Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Episode 5, “A Bitter Choice.”

In episode 5, the plot of Fairy Tail: The 100 Year Quest is running at full speed. This also helps The pace of this anime is quite strong, certainly more so than the original Fairy tale the anime had. That’s why Episode 5, “A Bitter Choice,” is so full of twists and turns, juggling three different conflicts while leaving room for a short, terrible cliffhanger at the end. The results are mostly positive, with one excellent battle taking shape, one decent conflict that plays out largely off-screen, and one battle that ends on a disappointing note.

Here, the members of Natsu the Himbo’s team face off not only against the wizards of the Diablos guild, but also against the water dragon god himself, Mercphobia. The latter leads much of the action in this episode, mostly successfully. Diabolos drops the ball, unfortunately, but the fight against Mercphobia promises to make up for that and more. Fans can at least look forward to that. Elsewhere, Tensions mount as the white mage springs into action with a hard-hitting twist which promises exceptional results a little later.

The battle against Diablos ends on an easy note

It’s not the explosive finale promised by episode 4

One Piece Chapter 1122 “The Time Has Come” Changes Everything

The latest chapter of the One Piece manga changes everything, with twists and turns that end Dr. Vegapunk’s message and end the battle for Future Island.

The ongoing battle against the Diabolos guild has produced only average results so far, meaning Fairy tale Fans can’t yet rank this guild of villains among Grimoire Heart, Tartaros, or even Phantom Lord as the franchise’s most entertaining antagonists. It’s true that Diabolos has the potential to rank among Fairy tales the strongest guilds if more members are introduced, but Kiria’s trio isn’t that promising after all. At this rate, the anime will need to introduce even more members to make it feel like a credible threat again. The problem is that Quest for 100 years briefly made Kiria’s trio stronger than Team Natsu in battle, only for Team Natsu to turn the tables a little too easily in episode 5.

For the sake of the story and according to shōnen conventions, it is natural for Team Natsu to take the lead in the second round and give fans hope that the heroes can ultimately win. This is how even the best-written shōnen series write such events, but even in a fast-paced anime like Quest for 100 yearsIt’s a bit too sudden. Episode 4 had fans hyped for the rematch between Team Natsu and Kiria’s trio aboard the Diabolos ship – including an energy sword from Erza Scarlet – only for Episode 5 to ramp up the highly anticipated fight, with disappointing results. While it’s gratifying to see Natsu and Erza land some serious blows on Madmole and Kiria, respectively, it still feels like a rushed episode rather than the full-scale battle that was promised. Erza beats Kiria simply because she has to for the sake of the story, and there’s nothing clever about the way Natsu turns the tables on Madmole. In fact, he just hits harder, and it works.

This fight even included some references to the power of friendship, which is a common sentiment in shōnen anime and doubly so in Fairy tale. After all, that’s what this particular anime franchise is known for. However, it wasn’t necessary at this particular moment. Team Natsu doesn’t even need to invoke the name of friendship in battle, as they’re already putting some serious pressure on Kiria’s trio with their own individual powers alone. They’re not desperate enough to need the power of friendship to save them, like when Erza invoked it while fighting Kyoka in the original anime. As a result, the power of friendship and even the previously established stakes seemed misused and unnecessary. The fight against Diabolos ends with the villains teleporting away thanks to Skullion’s ash magic, and their boat disappearing in the same manner. Team Natsu then takes a small rowboat back to Ermina, the city where Mercphobia lives. As disappointing as the conclusion to this potential rivalray is, Episode 5 thankfully gets stronger from there as the real fight unfolds.

Dramatic and tense battle against mercphobia dominates Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest Episode 5

Team Natsu must decide whether to kill Karameel’s savior or not.

  • Mercphobia is one of the five dragon gods that live in Guiltina.
  • In the past, there were fears that mercphobia would engulf entire cities and kill thousands of people.
  • After losing to Natsu, Mercphobia chose to remain in his human form.

The Naruto Character Who Always Maximized His Screen Time

Sasuke Uchiha has always maximized his screen time in Naruto, whether or not it’s relative to the number of episodes he got.

Kiria, Madmole, and Skullion all dropped the ball in Episode 5 and failed to put up as good a fight as Episode 4’s brawl suggested, but this lackluster battle only takes up five minutes of the episode. Luckily, there’s enough time for the episode’s best fight to take place. Kiria’s team’s interference was merely a distraction from the 100-year quest and the difficult choice Team Natsu now faces, and it’s clear that the stakes are high. Even from afar, Team Natsu’s members can see what’s happening, and it’s just as exciting, fascinating, and terrifying to watch. Mercphobia, as the Water Dragon God, throws all of Ermina into chaos with the power of water. As the episode progresses, the disaster becomes even more extreme. At the end of the episode, Mercphobia causes ocean water to rise into the sky to create an upside-down sea, with waterspouts connecting the watery skies to the ground below.

It all makes for a fantastic visual spectacle, and this fight isn’t just about looks. The conflict is worth it, as Mercphobia and his human ally Karameel have a lot to lose here. The problem, as Natsu and his friends have already seen, is that Mercphobia wants to restore this city to its natural state but is afraid of its own vast powers. If this draconic rampage continues much longer, all of Ermina will be doomed. It’s heartbreaking to hear the characters say that killing Mercphobia is the only surefire way to fix all of this. There is tension because Fairy tale Fans know it’s never that simple. Rightfully so, Natsu and his friends are hesitant to simply kill Mercphobia, though the idea is always taken seriously.

Perhaps it is possible to simply defeat and seal mercphobia so that everyone wins.but it will be a huge challenge as Mercphobia continues his aquatic rampage in his gigantic dragon form. Such a delicate situation is fun to watch in Fairy tale, because it gives the heroes a bigger challenge than just trying to figure out how the enemy’s magic works or getting stronger to win. Fighting pure power with power worked well in tournament arcs like the original anime’s Grand Magic Games, but this is different, and it’s alluring. Defeating Mercphobia through brute force is not only incredibly difficult, it’s also something no one wants to do. Karameel is in tears over this dire situation, and the race is on to see if Team Natsu can come up with the best solution and implement it.

Episode 5 doesn’t just set up this intriguing battle, as it also finds time to begin the overarching conflict between wizards and dragons. So far, the results are promising. Quest for 100 years In the first four episodes, Team Natsu held back on all their power, which was slightly disappointing. However, episode 5 changes all that with the same five wizards going all out. It’s a fun callback to the original Fairy tales The best moments are when familiar powers and weapons are showcased. Examples include Lucy’s Sagittarius star dress, Wendy’s enchantment magic, and Erza’s angelic armor. Finally, Erza fights like a true magical girl against the anime’s biggest foe so far, making you forget how disappointing her second fight against Diabolos was. And the best part is that there’s plenty of room for this fight to get even bigger and wilder in future episodes.

MHA Fans Demand Naruto Shippuden Treatment After Manga’s Abrupt Ending

As the My Hero Academia manga comes to an end, fans are demanding that the shonen get the Naruto Shippuden treatment.

Quest for 100 years The last few episodes managed to balance Team Natsu’s adventure on Guiltina with the investigation of Touka, the main villain of the revival. Episode 5 continues this momentum, but this time, with more rewards. The fun mysteries of this subplot have now been replaced by a terrifying threat.and the timing of this reveal feels right. It’s true that Touka’s plot lacks the explosive energy of the battle against Diabolos and Mercphobia, but the White Mage reveal helps this subplot feel a bit stronger compared to the main plot. This mystery was also pretty straightforward, so it’s good that the anime didn’t wait too long to reveal the real villain and show her taking action.

Touka is taken to the Fairy Tail guild hall, the same place she tried to join Fairy Tail. Here, Gajeel and Jellal interrogate her just in time for the White Mage to make herself known. Touka’s eye and eyelash colors change to pale lavender when the White Mage arrives, with her unique White-Out magic. Within moments, the White Mage knocks everyone out in Fairy Tail, and it’s clear that she intends to use them for herself now that they’re “dyed white”. She could just leave them there, but given the White Mage’s control over Mercphobia, it seems more likely that the White Mage is using the members of Fairy Tail as her own minions, and that’s an exciting idea. this allows Quest for 100 years Episode 5 ends on a compelling cliffhangerbecause now Team Natsu must face not only Diabolos and Mercphobia, but also their own friends. The heroes have rarely been as outnumbered and outgunned as they are now.
