Bruce Timm has revealed that he turned down an offer to make more episodes of the iconic animated series Batman: The Animated Series.

Batman: The Animated Series is a beloved superhero television series, developed by Timm and Eric Radomski, which originally premiered in September 1995. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, the series ran for 85 episodes and ended in 1995. In a conversation with The Wrap, Timm revealed that Warner Bros. had approached him about four or five years ago about the possibility of creating more episodes of Batman: The Animated Series.

Why didn’t Bruce Timm want to do more episodes?

Timm explained: “They said, ‘Hey, how about we go back and do a few more episodes of Batman: The Animated Series?’ And I thought, ‘No, we’ve been there, we’ve done that.’ I just wasn’t interested in revisiting that world..”

Even though he was thinking of making a series of Justice League For a time, Timm was eventually brought back to the world of Gotham Batman: Caped Crusaderwhich follows a young Bruce Wayne during the early days of his crime-fighting career.

“The more we talked about it, the more we thought, ‘Okay, this is interesting. This is interesting.’ And then we got really excited about it,” Timm said.
