Prime Video has released a new trailer for Batman: Caped Crusader, highlighting villains Clayface and Onomatopoeia, ahead of its August 1 premiere.

In this new phase of promotion, Prime Video focuses on Onomatopoeia and Clayface after an initial preview that showed Firebug, Gentleman Ghost and Nocturna. According to Discussing Film, Dan Donohue will voice Clayface and Reid Scott will voice Onomatopoeia.

Exclusive First Look at the New Villains

The new preview not only introduces these two new villains, but also offers us a first clip of the series, in which we can hear the deep voice of Batman, played by Hamish Linklater. This series, created by Bruce Timm, JJ Abrams and Matt Reeves, promises a unique experience with all its episodes available from day one.

Bruce Tim he commented that in the series, Batman It’s so early in his career that in the first episode he’s still an urban legend. “It’s not ‘Year One,’ it’s more like ‘Week Two,’” Timm explained. He also added that he wanted to bring a strange and unsettling touch to the character: “If you’re in a room with Batman, whether you’re Commissioner Gordon, Barbara Gordon or Renee Montoya, you don’t feel comfortable. You’re like, ‘Who is this guy?’ What is this story?’”

In addition to Clayface and Onomatopoeia, the series will also feature other iconic villains such as Harley Quinn, Catwoman, Two-Face, and The Penguin, among others.

Batman Returns to the Small Screen

The Batman: Caped Crusader series has an interesting history before its premiere on Prime Video. In May 2021, HBO Max and Cartoon Network gave the series a straight-to-series order, but in August 2022, they decided not to move forward with the project. Finally, in October 2023, Prime Video saved the series, giving it a new opportunity to reach fans.

What can we expect from Batman: Caped Crusader?

Gotham City is plagued by corruption that outnumbers the good guys, crime is rampant, and citizens live in a constant state of fear. Forged in the fires of tragedy, wealthy Bruce Wayne becomes something more and less than human: BATMAN. His one-man crusade attracts unexpected allies within the Gotham Police Department (GCPD) and City Hall, but his heroic actions lead to deadly and unforeseen consequences.

The series is a reimagining of the Batman mythology through the vision of executive producers J.J. Abrams, Matt Reeves and Bruce Timm. Based on the characters from DC, Batman: Caped Crusader is a Warner Bros. Animation production, Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions and Reeves’ 6th & Idaho. Along with Abrams, Reeves and Timm, executive producers include Ed Brubaker, James Tucker, Daniel Pipski, Rachel Rusch Rich and Sam Register.

Hamish Linklater leads the cast as Batman/Bruce Wayne, joined by an all-star ensemble cast that includes Christina Ricci, Jamie Chung, Diedrich Bader, Minnie Driver, Mckenna Grace, Eric Morgan Stuart, Michelle C. Bonilla, Krystal Joy Brown, John DiMaggio, Paul Scheer, Reid Scott, Tom Kenny, Jason Watkins, Gary Anthony Williams, Dan Donohue, David Krumholtz, Haley Joel Osment and Toby Stephens.

Anticipation for Batman: Caped Crusader continues to grow as we get closer to its premiere.
