Series producer Wendy Jacobson has hinted at the possibility of expanding She-Hulk’s second season by taking it to new extraterrestrials.

The Marvel Universe is always ready to surprise us, and She-Hulk looks no different. After a first season that mixed legal drama with superhero action, fans were left asking for more from Jennifer Walters, a lawyer who might accidentally turn into the Hulk. According to a recent reveal by producer Wendy Jacobson, the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law series could be more.

What’s next for She-Hulk?

When Disney+ introduced She-Hulk in 2022, the series quickly caught the attention of a global audience. Although criticized for some of its visual issues, the series focused solely on Jennifer’s daily life while dealing with Human and Hulk’s legal affairs. However, the final episodes left several open spots that suggest more stories are on the horizon.

In an interview with ComicBook, Wendy Jacobson shared her excitement about expanding The Lawyer’s universe, hinting at the possibility of a second season that would allow Jennifer Walters to explore diversity. “If we do more She-Hulk… I just love being in the everyday life of this character. She’s a woman in her thirties, trying to manage her life, her career and her friends, and she could turn into the Hulk,” Jacobson said.

The producer’s interest does not stop on Earth, because he thinks about taking She-Hulk into space, following some stories from the comics where the heroine was investigating cases in the Court of Life. “Either I want it to stay very rooted in LA, or I want to take it out into the universe or the multiverse,” he added.

Obstacles and opportunities

Although Jacobson’s statements are promising, Tatiana Maslany, who plays Jennifer Walters, seems skeptical about the future of the series. In January 2024, Maslany revealed that the first season’s high budget of $225 million may be an obstacle to its continuation. “I think we blew our budget and Disney said, ‘No thanks,'” the actress said.

Despite these financial challenges, the series’ presence on Disney+ provides a stable platform where fans can continue to enjoy the previously aired adventures and stay tuned for any announcements regarding renewals.

The opportunity to explore new angles of the multiverse with She-Hulk opens up a variety of narrative possibilities. This twist allows not only for more elements of the wider Marvel Universe to be integrated, but also for a deeper exploration of Jennifer Walters’ personal struggles and challenges in a context where her unique abilities can be put to the test like never before.

Will we see the green lawyer face interstellar challenges or will everything stay in the Los Angeles region? Only time will tell if Marvel and Disney+ will take us on their next great adventure. In the meantime, fans can speculate and dream about the next chapter in the beloved lawyer-turned-superhero’s life.
