Naruto Jump Remix Review #01/24

We’re going back to Hidden Leaf Village! Planet Comic has published the new remix of Masashi Kishimoto’s legendary manga Naruto Jump.

Mangas enjoy an enviable popularity, there may be a time when many people read manga, but everyone is a little afraid to start a new collection. A lot of Japanese comedies, especially glossy ones, last a long time and once you buy the first volume it starts to get a little dizzy knowing that 60 will be another 60. That’s why Planeta Comic created a new format for its big works, one where the three smaller volumes were collected into one. Not only is the number of volumes reduced, but it is more economical than the previous format.

One of the first works to be published in the “3 in 1” format was Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto. Naruto is one of the most important manga in history, along with One Piece and Bleach (known as the Big Three), it popularized Japanese comics to an unprecedented level, transforming the industry into the giant it is today. Both the manga and the anime have been extremely successful both in Japan and abroad. His work before and after was marked particularly brightly in the industry.

Although Kishimoto’s career ended in 2014, he remains a best seller in comics and merchandise. Knowing that there are many people who want to read Naruto’s continued big draw and manga, the new edition released by Planeta can be a great opportunity, since they go from 72 volumes to 24. Sadness worth it.

As a note, this new collection is available in both Spanish and Catalan.

Return to Leaf Village

For those who don’t know, Naruto follows the story of the main character that the work is named after. Set in a world full of ninjas, the young protagonist is an orphan who grew up in a hidden leaf village in the Land of Fire. Although the young man is unloved by the accident and the rest of the village, the young Hokage aspires to become the supreme leader of the village and become a great shinobi.

During the adventure, we follow Naruto and his companions through their training as ninjas, from their time at the academy to training and even on space missions. The manga, like most manga, is filled with a lot of humor, but also special action-packed moments that are etched into the reader’s retina. But like a good job, there are moments when tears escape, sometimes out of emotion and other times out of sadness.

This volume compiles the first 33 issues of the series, which can be considered from the introduction, the first training sessions and the first mission in the country of waves. The perfect first voice to discover the voice of the work and absorb the world and meet the most relevant characters.

Kishimoto started this career at the age of 25 and it is amazing how he has grown along with his career. Some aspects of the work, scripturally and pictorially, may seem less advanced than contemporary works, but as stated earlier, the work was improving in every way. Some explanations or concepts narrated in this volume dissolve as the series continues, which is common in many long-running manga.

If you are worried about the visual part, don’t worry, the picture will improve a lot and leave amazing impressions. All that being said, the story told in this volume and the illustrations are very interesting and anyone who is approaching Naruto for the first time will enjoy reading it.

Naruto Jump Remix nº 01 issue by Planeta Comic

As previously announced, Planeta’s new 3-in-1 formats compile three of the original volumes into one massive volume. Despite its thick size, it is still manageable and never uncomfortable to read. The separation between the pages is enough to see and read the scrolls properly, even the flash pages are well loaded for enjoyment. The first volume of this series, which is 12.8 × 18 cm in size and has a total of 704 pages, is sold for €17.95. Although the price seems excessive, considering the individual price of the first “tomitos” (€ 8.50), the price of this “3 in 1” is very attractive.

Naruto Jump Remix Edition is an excellent update of Masashi Kishimoto’s work. A great opportunity to read one of the most influential manga in history in a quality edition. Although more than 25 years have passed since Naruto’s first adventures, his story can still be very interesting, because he has all the parts needed to shine. A great opportunity to start a collection of this legendary manga.
