The character of John Wick 4 will have his own project

A new film set in the world of John Wick is in development.

The John Wick universe continues to expand.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, John’s rival Kane, who will appear in the fourth installment of the Keanu Reeves-starring saga, will have his own movie. The outlet said the project will film in Hong Kong next year, with Donnie Yen reprising his role. The information doesn’t reveal who the film’s director will be, but Chad Stahelski, the mind behind the franchise, is handling the competition as part of a deal with Lionsgate to expand this universe. Robert Askins will write the script.

After Kaine kills Shimazu (Hiroyuki Sanada) in John Wick 4, the post-credits scene shows Akira (Rina Sawayama) Shimazu’s daughter seeking revenge. This may have been the starting point of the reversal that Yen starred in.
