Disney’s Lorcana, Ravensburger’s new TCG continues its journey to the top by leaps and bounds. After announcing the news of Ursula’s return for the fourth edition, they revealed more details about their new products and new dates for the competitive tournament. At the moment, Spain is excluded, but France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom will not be closed to the public, so the players and the curious will have their own events to participate in. On the contrary, it will be a Lorcan show in Europe.

Ravensburger, the award-winning publisher of board games, puzzles and toys, held its grand opening on March 20, announcing new features that expand the wildly popular Disney Lorcan Trading Card Game (TCG) line and more. Ursula’s Return, referring to Disney’s Ursula, is the fourth installment of the Disney Lorcan TCG and adds more Disney characters and evolutionary game mechanics, continuing the story told in the first three installments.

Illuminator Quest “Deep Trouble” is a new co-op game that sees players take on Ursula in an epic battle for the first time. Both products will debut at Disney Parks on May 17, 2024, followed by select wholesale retailers and Disney Stores on May 31, 2024.

The Disney Lorcan TCG Ursula’s Return set includes two starter decks with an amethyst-amber and sapphire-steel card combo (€19.90) and booster packs (€5.99). Also available to buy is a new Illuminator Trove (€54.90) and new game accessories including card sleeves (€9.99), deck boxes (€5.99) and playing cards (€19.99).

Lorcana played heavily against Ursula, the villain from The Little Mermaid who dominates the current meta.

In this new collection, the ruthless and power-hungry sea witch Ursula – from the second collection of The Light World, Rise of the Flood – is ready to put her evil plans into motion and rule over Lorcan by the players and them alone. Faithful people blink on their way. Ursula’s Return introduces new franchises, beloved characters, and new evolutions in game mechanics, and reveals more about the history of Lorcan and the lights summoned there.

While more details about mechanics and franchises will be released in the future, Ravensberger confirmed the arrival of highly anticipated characters including Bruno and the rest of the Madrigal family from the Disney film Encanto, as well as popular characters such as Disney’s Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey Mouse and Disney’s Yen Sid from the Disney film Fantasia.

The Illuminator Quest “Deep Trouble” game offers players a new way to experience the world of Dini Lorcana TCG.

Players can team up with friends or go on a solo quest to defeat Ursula and save Lorcana in Ilumier’s quest “Deep Trouble”, the first co-op game in the Dini Lorcana TCG. In the game, the illuminators follow Ursula’s evil spark until they reach her cabin in the kingdom of Lorcana. Unfortunately, Ursula is preparing for the arrival of the pilots by mind-control trapping other sparks and natural disasters creating seemingly impossible obstacles. The pilots must use all their skills and work as a team to prevent Ursula from consolidating her power in Lorcana territory. The set includes a guided play area for Ursula, two pre-made Disney Lorcan TCG play ships (including Disney’s Mulan and Yen Sid and built with cards from the first four Disney Lorcan TCG sets), and a ship for the fierce Ursula. A magical sea witch plays by her own rules.

The game offers four difficulty levels from easy to extreme, and each level includes rule variations that make the gaming experience unique. Ursula’s power increases over the course of the game, so players are encouraged to customize their house to have a better chance of success on higher difficulty levels. Minimally customizable, the game includes everything needed for 1-2 players and can be expanded up to 4 players with additional Disney Lorcana TCG decks. Players can use cards that come in pre-built player decks or use their own deck in-game. The cards in Ursula’s deck have a distinctive black background to make them easier to identify. The game is suitable for Disney Lorcana TCG players aged 8 and up and retails for €59.99.

Disney’s Lorcan Challenge lays the foundation stones for a competitive circuit.

Luminaries from all over the world will soon be able to compete in the Disney Lorcana Challenge, a new competitive events circuit for the Disney Lorcana TCG. The Disney Lorcana Challenge will begin on May 25 and will give players a chance to win special prizes, including a Dragon Fire Promo Card with an extended art for all participants. Additionally, players can win other extended art versions of popular cards from previous releases, including Let It Go, Cinderella – Stouthearted and Rapunzel – Healing Talent.

The top four finishers in each event will receive extended art versions of the Mickey Mouse – Brave Little Tailor series. The Disney Lorcan Race will begin with events in Atlanta, Georgia, United States and Lille, France. The circuit also includes side events like the Disney Villainous Tournaments, which were introduced last year at Gen Con and PAX Unplugged.
