Blue and Malone: The Impossible Journey brings together the best detectives in an innovative feature film featuring the voice of Alex O’Dougherty.
Mortando Malone and Big Blue Cat, also known as Blue and Malone, are celebrating today. The coolest couple of imaginary detectives will finally have a chance to surprise everyone in their first feature film, “The Impossible Journey.”
Blue and Malone: The Impossible Journey will be a film that mixes 3D animation, live action and animatronics. We are faced with a film where tradition and visual creativity are combined. The concept feature film has the air of classics like The Neverending Story, Inside the Labyrinth or The Dark Crystal (1982), but at the same time innovative with new animation techniques.
After passing through the American film market, Annecy, Cannes and Berlinale, the creator and director of the characters, Abraham López Guerrero and producer Gerardo Alvarez, on March 5 in the cartoon film, the stage of this story will be European, a co-production involving several countries.
In parallel with the search for financing, the technical director Jorge Medina is conducting a scouting of the first forecast tracks, as evidenced by these images posted on Instagram by a pair of investigators.
The idea of making a feature film was discussed several years ago, but there was no news until today. Now, the prospect of seeing Blue and Malone on their next big adventure seems like a real reality.
Alex O’Dougherty returns as Mortando Malone
Alex O’Dougherty (Camera Cafe, Dr. Matteo, Alatriist, Heaven…) will reprise his role as rabid dog detective Mortando Malone, House of El has exclusively revealed. With O’Dogerty’s charismatic voice and charming character designs, it will delight adults and children alike.
We’re also told that even though Impossible Journeys isn’t Bertha’s story, short film actress Ora Garrido is the main character, but the character might make an appearance, but that’s not entirely guaranteed yet. Perhaps more information on the subject will be provided from the film’s production as the project continues.
