Although Smallville ended 10 years ago, many Superman fans want to see the continuation of the show

Tom Welling discusses the possibility of seeing a Smallville sequel in film form.

Fans want more Smallville

Actor Michael Rosenbaum, who played Lex Luthor in Smallville, celebrates his 300th podcast “Inside of You” with special guest Tom Welling. In fact, the actor was the first guest on the said podcast. At one point in the interview, Rosenbaum asked Welling if he would be willing to accept an offer to appear in the film Smallville, to which he responded, “I mean, I’d say, ‘Yeah, let’s hear it.'” “I don’t know how it’s going to go.”

Welling added that he would like to return as Superman on Smallville because it remains one of the most successful shows on television.

“We’ve been on one of the most successful shows in television history, like Top 50. I’ve never had an incoming call from anyone on the show asking me to keep working. It’s not my intention, I’m not saying I don’t feel bad about it, I’m not adamant about it to anybody. But I will. When you’re successful. I believe you will continue to be successful with successful people, but I think times have changed.

The series finale aired in 2011, and since then, we’ve only seen Tom Welling as Superman in the Arrowverse Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover. Erica Durance’s Lois Lane appeared in this event, meaning from the show. The story takes us to Earth-167, where retired Clark Kent and Lois are seen raising their daughter on their farm.

While we have no confirmation about the movie’s development to continue the show, Welling and Rosenbaum will return in the Smallville animated series.
