After Destin Daniel Crayton left Kang Dynasty, Marvel is looking for the same team for the two Avengers movies.
A new report names three Marvel Studios candidates for the upcoming Avengers movies, The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars.
Who will Marvel choose to lead Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars?
According to insider Daniel Richman, Sam Raimi is one of the names being considered to direct the two films that bring together the MCU’s number one heroes. Let’s remember that The Kang Dynasty was originally directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, but recently news broke that the filmmaker is leaving the project to devote himself to another project at Marvel. This isn’t the first time Raimi has been linked to Secret Wars, as MyTimeToShineHello hinted in September that the acclaimed director was one of the options to work on the upcoming Avengers films.
However, Richman also said that Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead are on the shortlist. They have previously worked in the MCU, most notably in two episodes of Moon Knight and four episodes of Loki Season 2, in addition to being behind Daredevil: Rebirth.
The insider explains that although the three directors he mentioned are among the main contenders, there is currently no favourite.
Kang Dynasty hits theaters on May 1, 2026, and Secret Wars on May 7, 2027.
