Three of the Hulk’s supporting characters never appeared in any Marvel Cinematic Universe movie.
Ever since Bruce Banner and his alter ego first appeared in the comic The Incredible Hulk no. 1 (1962), by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, many characters make headlines.
However, despite their importance in cartoons or animated series or video games, many of these characters have yet to get a chance in live-action, at least in the case of Marvel Cinematic, which is becoming increasingly complicated, as some of these characters at this point Because they don’t make sense to appear, given their close connection to the Hulk’s early adventures. Furthermore, the sensitive issue of the protagonist’s rights in this article further complicates the situation.
The sample discussed in the previous paragraph is an example that we don’t think we’ll ever see sharing the screen with UCM Hulk, along with the three characters that can be read below.
Rick Jones
This character started in the same comic strip as the main character of the title, if we take into account his participation in the origin of the Hulk, because if he had not sneaked into the gamma ray testing site, as a result of an act of youth rebellion, Bruce Banner would not have had to go to save him and turned him into the Hulk from danger. He will survive. Rick Jones becomes the best friend of the Emerald Colossus, who accompanies him on many adventures to ease his guilt.
Rick Jones was friends with other heroes, most notably Captain America, and shared a body with two generations of Captain Marvel through the Nega-Bands.
Due to the changed plot in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and in the films and television series related to the origin of the Hulk, an important character like Rick Jones does not find a place in these adaptations, although his appearance is considered rare.
Glenn Talbot
We first saw this character in an adventure published by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in the comic book Tales of Astonish #61 (1964). Although they are sometimes forced to team up to face common threats, his love for Betty Ross, who has only romantic feelings for Bruce Banner, is interpreted as a deep hatred for the scientist, a military man.
After playing Josh Lucas in the movie Hulk (2003), Adrian Pasdar got into the skin of a total of 24 episodes of the series Agents of SHIELD (2013 – 2020), the first being Providence (the first season, episode 18) and the last ending (the fifth episode, episode 22).
But even though this TV spot was released as a spin-off of the movie The Avengers (2012), the plot gradually drifted away from the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, so it was considered not to be part of Marvel Cinematic Universe. The universe is part of the main line of the saga, so the Glenn Talbot we see in the series, his contribution to it has nothing to do with the main character of this article, not the UCM.
Charlie Tidwell
Although this character was first published in The Incredible Hulk no. 1 (2023) Although it appeared in the Adventure Age of Monsters published by Philip Kennedy Johnson and Nick Klein, we did not know his full name until the mystery of the man- thing, part one, which was released in the fourth issue of the collection, was released in the same year, but with travel foreman Nick Klein replaced on the drawing board.
Ever since this new phase of the Emerald Colossus began, Charlie Tidwell has been his traveling companion. In fact, at least as long as the current status of the title is in place, everything seems to indicate that this new feature will be of great importance. Another thing is that the next authors of the collection know how to use it.
Although in some cases superhero movies try to use characters with little editing experience, instead of choosing to choose more familiar ones, Charlie Tidwell doesn’t seem to have many opportunities to accompany the Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Did the other two characters mentioned in this article live and do we know what happened to them?
