Crunchyroll – the world’s largest anime-focused streaming platform – has quietly removed three popular anime series that, in total, amount to over 16.6 hours of content.
As reported by X (formerly Twitter) user @MangaAlerts, Death Parade, 91 days And Claymore are no longer available on the main Crunchyroll website. As of October 22, 2025, the series can only be streamed through Crunchyroll’s official Amazon Video and Roku channels, both of which require separate subscription plans. It is unclear how long these will also remain available. For anime fans in the United States, these three anime works can no longer be legally streamed on any other major platform, such as Netflix, Hulu/Disney, or HBO Max. MangaAlerts’ post was met with immense disappointment from Crunchyroll users, many of whom seemed particularly annoyed by the removal of Death Parade.

An often overlooked gem from the mid-2010s, 91 days is an original historical thriller produced by Shuka (Durarara!! x2, Natsume Yuujinchou Seasons 5-7). Set in America during the Prohibition era, the series revolves around Angelo Lagusa, a teenager whose family was killed by members of a major branch of the Italian mafia. Seeking revenge on Vincent Vanetti, Don of the Vanetti family, he assumes a false identity and infiltrates the infamous “Lawless” sector of his hometown. Eventually, he befriends Vanetti’s son Nero, complicating his once simple revenge plan. The anime consists of 12 episodes and a bonus OVA.
Death Parade is also an original anime IP. Produced by Madhouse (Suzerain, Freezing: beyond the end of the journey), the initial short film Death Billiards and its later television series are both set in a world where humans are either reincarnated or sent to the “eternal void” after death. To determine their fate, each individual must participate in a series of death games judged by mysterious individuals called “referees.” The goal of these games is to reveal a person’s true nature, which helps the referee determine whether they deserve to be reborn. The central character is Decim, an arbiter with an unusual interest in human emotions. The anime series ran for 12 episodes from January 9, 2015 to March 27, 2016.
The madhouse Claymore is based on the titular manga series by Norihiro Yagi, originally broadcast in Monthly Shonen Jump magazine from June 2001 to October 2014. In a fantasy setting inspired by medieval Europe, humanity is endangered by vicious creatures known as youma who can take the form of human beings. The main protagonist, Claire – a powerful human-youma hybrid created by a group known only as the Organization – travels as a mercenary, destroying pure-blood youma. While most humans vilify Claire’s kind, cruelly calling them “silver-eyed witches,” she eventually befriends a boy named Raki who teaches her about human loyalty, kindness, and love. Notably, the 26-episode anime only covers chapters 1-60 of the original. Claymore manga series.
Access to Crunchyroll via Amazon Prime and Roku is available for subscription prices starting at US$7.99 per month or $79.99 per year.
