10 whitening filling episodes that were better than you remember

Like many others anime Shonen in the long term, the first parts of Bleach are filled with filling arches. Stories like the Arc de Bount have been mixed over the years, and fans have not been likely to revisit them anytime soon. It’s no secret that BleachThe filling arches are very affected. However, there are still episodes of filling that manage to succeed and even go beyond the expectations of fans.

Occasionally, BleachPunctual filling episodes would offer convincing stories that completed the events of the main plot. Contrary to BleachThe filling arcs, these episodes benefit from being short and digestible stories which give more characterization to Ichigo and other main characters. Due to their short, these filling episodes can be much more comical compared to the serious challenges of the new captain Shusuke Amagai or the arcs of the invasive army. Filling episodes like these can provide a nice break with the intense action seen in the main story.

The first half of the episode is purely dedicated to the fact that Kon is disconcerted by the inspired powers of Tokusatsu that Urahara grants him. His interactions with Don Kanonji and the sisters of Ichigo deliver as many laughs as Kon desperately tries to sail in the growing threats that the new team of hollow exterminators must fight. The episode is just a happy game overall that revitalizes in its antics of silly superheroes.

The Kurosaki sisters are investigating mysterious UFO observations in town, learning that they are caused by two wandering hollows in the region. This soon leads the Kurosakis to team up with Don Kanonji, Jinta Hanakari and Ururu Tsumugiya.

This new team would mark the birth of Karakura superheroes, a group that would go through many different iterations through the other Bleach filling episodes. In this case, Don Kanonji steals the show. He tries to convince his four districts to become his students in the fight against the supernatural, only accepting the threats that the hollows constitute from the city of Karakura. Bleach Is not a stranger to put his characters in strange situations during the filling arcs, and that sounds true in episode 287 of the anime. Ichigo wakes up to find himself in a Hueco Mundo desert with Chad, Orihime, and Uryu dressed in turbans and adjusted clothes. While the group moves on camels, Ichigo slowly realizes that the world in which it has been transported is based on Arab nights. Things become even stranger when Uryu informs Ichigo that this whole world is a product of his dreams, encouraging him to find a way out using the Aladdin lamp.

The episode is fully based to do BleachThe casting has mounted in the world of Arab nights. The Aladdin lamp, for example, is designed to look like the Kon’s plush shape. Duplicates of characters like Kisuke Urahara and Jinta Hanakari also give advice to Ichigo on how to wake up from his dreams. Soul Society is even replaced by the Society lamp, where Ichigo must save the world version of Rukia from the 13 divisions of judicial lamps. For a unique filling episode, it does an excellent job to be a good parody of emblematic scenarios like the Soul Society Arc.

The episode gives Ichigo a great characterization that we only find in the anime

Bleach Episode 313 (1)

In one of BleachThe more serious filling episodes, Ichigo ends up binding with an experienced member of the 11th Division of Soul Society, Scizo Harugazaki. While Iichigo trains with Renji in Soul Society, his meeting with Séizo leads to the two investigating the ruins of a city destroyed by hollows. The air of the mystery surrounding the soul with a gentle manifesto makes Seizo much more interesting than most of the filling characters, offering advice to Ichigo who improve his reflexes in combat. The 11th Division Soul Reaper also has an surprisingly touching background that makes viewers even more invested in the character.

He revealed that the spiritual energy of Séizo was completely drained after he and Ikkaku met a dangerous hollow. While Séizo accepts that he should be released from Gotei 13, Ichigo continues to stimulate him to move forward. The dynamics between the two is easily the highest point of the episode. Even if he feels unfit to be a supper, the encouragement of Ichigo allows the older shinigami to continue to protect people in his own way.

The decreasing powers of Ichigo are explored in the Bleach 317 episode

By picking up a month after Aizen’s defeat, Ichigo is forced to look at his powers slowly fade. While the Soul Reaper substitute once again spends time adapting to normal life, the troubles are already starting to brew in the Soul Society. Nanao and Rangiku both disappeared, leaving the captains of Gottei 13 to start investigating their disappearances.

This episode marks the start of the Filling Arc of the Gotei 13 army. Although it is not as well known as other filling materials such as the Arc Bount, it tells a much more interesting story in comparison. The mystery behind the missing lieutenants intrigues immediately after the massive battle against Aizen. Ichigo is also placed in a strange position in this arc, forced not to spend too much from its power to overcome the hollows or risk losing its powers at a faster rate.

Yachiru meets an old friend in the Javel 315 episode

Fans have a rare overview of the enigmatic soul reaper lieutenant

We don’t know much about Yachiru Kusajishi, the mysterious lieutenant of Squad 11. Even in the manga, very little information is known about it until the very end of the series. The anime, however, decides to consecrate one of his filling episodes to spread his ties with other soul renapers in the Gotei 13. In episode 315, Yachiru catches up with his old friend, Masayoshi.

Unlike the joyful attitude of Yachiru, Masayoshi is a lasting souperie at the battle in search of the hollow that killed his family. But just like with Kenpachi, the improbable duo is played quite well, Yachiru calling with casualness the intimidating soul “Mappy” in several points. The story of Masayoshi is much less simple than it appears on the surface. The story takes a much darker turn once he revealed that Masayoshi was responsible for the death of his wife, being secretly a hollow all the time. The story is remarkably sad for a character as light as Yachiru, but it helps viewers to better understand who it is under its sunny exterior.

Ichigo Kurosaki has his sword drawn and pointed out while other bleach characters are represented in various action poses on the anime poster.
