The manga is a massive world filled with unforgettable stories and amazing art. But for each masterpiece rightly famous, there are titles that continue to arise in recommendations for all bad reasons. Sometimes it is nostalgia that speaks. Other times, it is the erroneous belief that everything that is shocking should be seen. Whatever the reason, some manga are constantly recommended even if they are outdated or simply uncomfortable to read according to today’s standards.
Some of these manga, as Butler And GoldCould have had an impact when they dropped for the first time. Some even helped shape the medium. But times have changed and the narration has evolved. Whether due to questionable themes or extreme violence, many of these works have not aged well. Although there is room for difficult stories, it is time to stop acting as each classic problem is necessary for reading. These are manga that fans should probably stop recommending without a very strong content warning, at least.

Berserk is brilliant, but not for everyone
The manga is bloody and deeply disturbing
Furious is often rented for its dark history and its rich construction of the world. It is a story of black fantasy defining the genre, but it is also one of the most disturbing manga on the market. Violence is overwhelming and endless. The major characters are constantly subject to abuses, in particular one of the most notable cases of aggression in the history of manga. The majority of Furious Fans always recommend manga to new readers without warning them of the graphic themes of psychological and sexual violence.
Furious is a dark and heartbreaking tragedy of survival and destiny in a cruel world. For some readers, it’s convincing, but for others, it’s just too much. Furious deserves respect, but manga should not be treated as a single recommendation. It is important to recognize how painful manga can be to read and understand that everyone will not want to dive into this darkness.

There is no Kodomo defense not Jikan
The series does not cover a daring subject; It’s just disgusting
No matter how often someone is trying to say Kodomo no Jikan is a “revolutionary” story or a “misunderstood drama”, there is no bypass of what history is really: a manga on a little girl who actively tries to seduce her adult teacher. The story is not eccentric or mature but inappropriate. Some fans defend manga by saying that it has deep emotional layers, approaching trauma and loneliness of childhood. But none of this excuses how the manga sexualizes the minors several times and plays this discomfort to laugh.

There are a lot of great manga to read, but these incredible titles have still not yet received official English translations.
This is the kind of manga that makes readers very uncomfortable. There are complex stories about inappropriate trauma and borders, and Kodomo no Jikan is not one of them. It’s time to stop claiming that manga deserves a place on any serious recommendations list. Some lines should not be crossed, and this manga dances on them with pride.

Gantz is more superficial than intelligent
Gore, firearms and zero growth
Glove likes to be violent and scandalous. At first glance, the plot resembles a story of exciting science fiction action where the dead have a second chance in life by chasing extraterrestrials. But although the premise is interesting, the execution is more like the fantasy of power of a teenager than a significant exploration of life and death. Female distribution is constantly sexualized and violence quickly becomes repetitive.
Worse, history claims to have great ideas on morality and society, but rarely follows in a thoughtful way. Instead, Glove relies on Gore and the fans service to keep the readers committed. Some always recommend Glove As a deep or mature manga, but it is above all aggressive and exhausting. Anyone looking for an intelligent science fiction with an emotional depth will probably start disappointed or disgusted.

Black Butler is an elegant mess with disturbing shades
Dark Victorian aesthetics cannot cover everything
Butler Has a huge base of fans, especially Gothic style readers and dark intrigue. However, although art is flashy and creative, manga enters very uncomfortable areas. Butler Never really lean how frightening the story is. The tension between Sebastian and sky walks between romantic and sexual even if heaven is a child. Some scenes amplify this for the fans service, which has naturally made many readers feel uncomfortable.
History also throws brutal themes such as children’s trafficking and torture, sometimes with too little sensitivity. While Butler Mind over time, many always recommend the manga without warning. But its early content and the way in which history sexualizes a young protagonist makes this manga a bad first choice for new readers or whoever does not want their Victorian intrigue to be extended.

Elfen Menti is terribly non -sophisticated
An explosive start that collapses quickly
Eleven songs is known for its first chapter, full of excessive gore and a lot of nudity. This is the kind of manga that quickly attracts the attention of readers but cannot follow a substantial narration. The manga explores certain emotional subjects concerning alienation and abuse, but it tends to appear as shallow and sensational in its execution. The manga largely depends on the shock value. Instead of developing its characters or exploring its themes deeply, the manga simply continues to add horrible murders and sexual assaults to the plot.
Some fans defend Eleven songsSaying that it is deep, but a more in -depth examination shows that the story is often upset just to be pissed off. New readers looking for a psychic complexity or a tremendous strong could find themselves disoriented, or worse, uncomfortable. There are better stories that explore pain and power without counting on a constant shock and exploitation.

Dead Tube shows the worst parts of the internet in the form of a manga
Dead tube is like a horror film on viral culture, but with all the brakes removed. The story requires what is happening when people were doing anything for online glory, then shows the answer in the most grotesque way possible. Murder, sexual violence and graphic dismemberment are constantly occurring, generally with one side of voyeurism. The idea behind Dead tube Could have been an interesting comment on social media and human desensitization. But the manga does not criticize this world.

The violence is extreme and the characters are not very friendly. This is often recommended for daring horror fans or psychological thrillers, but Dead tube does not offer any real overview. There is a difference between the horror that makes you think and the horror that makes you want to look away. Dead tube is the latter.

Golden Boy has not aged well
Pervert Comedy has an expiration date
In the 90s, Gold was known to be a wacky and exaggerated comedy in which a guy takes odd jobs and finds himself in ridiculous situations with women. At the time, its extremes was part of the joke. But today it seems above all frightening and obsolete. The main character, Kintaro, is supposed to be harmless and cute, but his moments of the constant lips and “accidental” quickly become tiring.
The manga is more interested in melodramatic sexual situations than developing characters or creating humor that will last. Some fans call Gold A “obscene but funny” manga classic, but comedy has evolved. What was once considered cheeky is now worthy of Digne. Unless someone specifically wants a time capsule in the 90s, there is no real reason to continue to recommend Gold.

No game, no life is buried in doubtful choices
Incest jokes and fans service in Gogo
No game no life Start well. Two genius brothers and sisters are transported to a fantastic world where everything is installed through the games. The intrigue could have been a fun and intelligent adventure with a creative strategy and a construction of the world. Unfortunately, the manga does not waste time on uncomfortable ground, especially with regard to the brothers protagonists. The chemistry between Sora and Shiro Borders on the passage of the line in goosebumps, with incest jokes and a fans service occurring too often.
The story also uses female characters mainly for jokes or pleasure. While the games and the world are interesting, the tone and the content make manga a difficult sale to many readers. No game no life is one of these manga more problematic than fans do not want to admit it. It is time to stop claiming that it is a peak narration.

The Qwaser of Stigmata must be left in the past
Armed fans service at its worst
Some manga blur the border between fans and fantasy service. The qwaser of Stigmata Breathe right in front. In this bizarre series, the characters gain in power by drinking “Soma”, which in this case is breast milk from real women. These women are generally undressed when they occur. History claims to be on alchemy and the supernatural war, but all this is buried under mountains of exploiting and tasteless content.

The darkest manga series of all time
Thanks to their representations of violence and savagery, manga like Elfen have lied and Berserk landed among some of the darkest manga series ever.
The female characters are constantly sexualized and reduced in fuel for male power-ups. It is difficult to take anything seriously when the manga itself does not seem. The qwaser of Stigmata is above all an excuse for an extreme fans service with a thin intrigue of paper. There are better series of action. There are still better Ecchi series.

Made in Abyss is too much for many readers
Beautiful art hiding deep trauma
Made in abyss Looks like a cute and imaginative manga of adventure at first glance. The characters resemble children and art is tromically charming. But below the surface is one of the most psychologically brutal stories of the modern manga. Made in abyss is a tale full of physical mutilation and deeply disturbing images involving children. The Abyss is a metaphorical descent into suffering, and history does not punch.
Children are tortured, experienced and exposed to horrors that most adult characters from other series would not survive. The contrast between the fanciful artistic style and the extreme violence makes experience even more shocking. While Made in abyss Explore powerful themes such as sacrifice and curiosity, intrigue often does it in a way that feels exploiting. Many fans recommend manga without warning others how emotionally exhausting or trigger the story.
